This role ensures that company data is reliable, accessible, and protected. The Database Manager works closely with IT, Operations, and other departments to support reporting, analytics, and system integrations.\r\nEssential Functions\r\nAdminister and support SQL and other database platforms used throughout the organization.\r\nMonitor database performance and tune systems for speed and efficiency.\r\nEnsure the security of data through access controls, backups, and compliance measures.\r\nDesign and implement data structures that support business needs.\r\nMaintain documentation related to database architecture, procedures, and policies.\r\nManage data integrations between systems (e.g., ERP, HRIS, inventory, customer data).\r\nWork with internal teams to gather reporting and data needs and develop custom queries or reports.\r\nSupport data cleanup and conversion projects.\r\nTroubleshoot issues related to data access, reliability, and integrity.\r\nCollaborate with third-party vendors and technical consultants as needed.\r\nStay up to date on new database technologies and recommend improvements.\r\nPerform other duties and projects as assigned.\r\nCore Competencies\r\nAnalytical thinking\r\nProblem-solving\r\nCommunication\r\nConfidentiality\r\nPlanning and prioritization\r\nTeam collaboration\r\nJob Specific Competencies\r\nStrong understanding of relational database design and management\r\nProficient in SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization\r\nExperience with database security and backup strategies\r\nFamiliarity with reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Crystal Reports, Tableau)\r\nKnowledge of data governance and compliance (e.g., GDPR, SOX)\r\nAbility to manage and document complex data systems\r\nThis role operates in an office environment with regular use of computers, servers, and standard office equipment.\r\nPhysical Demands\r\nPrimarily sedentary, involving long periods of computer work.
