Behavior Intervention Developer (BID)
About This PositionThe Behavior Intervention Developer (BID) plays a vital role in supporting students with disabilities by developing and guiding individualized behavior interventions that align with students’ unique learning needs and IEP goals. The BID serves as a leader in inclusive and equitable education by designing Behavior Intervention and Support Plans, providing direct support to students, and managing and coaching Behavior Intervention Implementation Associates (BIIs).In partnership with the Director of Special Education, the BID will contribute to staffing and ensure services are compliant and aligned with instructional models. Rooted in progressive, interdisciplinary educational model, this role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely withschool leaders, educators, families, and student support teams to ensure every child receives a holistic, supportive, and high-quality education experience.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement data-drive Behavior Intervention and Support Plans aligned with students’ IEPsSupport the hiring and onboarding of BIIsDevelop BII schedules and assign them to students based on service needs and provide ongoing modeling and trainingServe as a manager and coach to BIIs, providing regular feedback, modeling, and annual evaluationsConduct field observations and monitor fidelity of implementation and data documentationProvide direct 1:1 behavior intervention services to students as neededConduct field observations and monitor fidelity of implementation and data documentationCollaborate with classroom educators and other support specialist (e.g. School Counselors, School Psychologists, etc) to ensure integrated behavior supportsEngage and communicate with families regarding student progress and goalsMaintain accurate student documentation and effectively manage assigned caseloadsAttend and contribute to IEP meetings and collaborate with related service providersAdditional duties as assigned by Director of Special EducationCore CompetenciesCollaboration & Influence: Builds trusting relationships with educators, families, and service providers. Remains calm and focused in high-stakes or emotionally complex situations.Organizational Stewardship: Manages time, caseloads, and documentation responsibilities effectively. Upholds high standards for service quality and compliance with IEPs and school-wide expectations.
