This is a full-time permanent role supporting the Protected Distribution System (PDS) IT infrastructure program in Laurel, MD.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nAssess existing PDS conduit pathways and make determinations to ensure they are compliant with current DoD requirements.\nAssess, identify, and collect IT infrastructure requirements (pathways, spaces, cable, power, cooling, etc...) to support existing and new PDS installation requests.\nPrepare floor plans, rack elevations, installation specifications, statement of work, budgetary cost estimates, schedules, and other design documents.\nPresent and review designs with the team and your customers.\nWork with our Contracts, Plant Facilities, and onsite installation partners to implement your designs.\nConduct pre-construction design reviews, quality control checks, and post-construction code compliance inspections.\nCoordinate the construction and implementation of telecommunications and technology systems that support our unclassified and classified network environments.\nCoordinate site surveys, schedules, security escorts, and inspections with our customers and operation partners.\nCollaborate with internal design team to identify projects to improve our infrastructure and services.\nPeriodically coordinate and assist internal IT teams and staff with day-to-day operations as assigned or needed to complete projects you are directly leading.\n\nQualifications\n\nA Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI) Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD).\nMinimum of five years' experience designing, planning, implementing, and maintaining high-speed network cabling systems and IT facilities.\nHave 1-2 years of experience with Department of Defense (DoD) standards pertaining to the design and installation of IT infrastructure to support Protected Distribution Systems (PDS)\nAre knowledgeable in telecommunications/electrical/fire codes, and industry standards (ANSI/EIA/TIA, CNSSI, IEEE, NEC/NFPA, OSHA, and BICSI standards and guidelines).\nProficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)\nProficient with a computer-aided design / drawing package such as AutoCAD, Visio, Revit, or Geographical Information System (GIS).\nAble to identify and convey Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical, and Physical\nCan provide sample documentation of a past design project that you personally led during the interview.\nAre a highly motivated self-starter with good organizational and problem-solving skills.\nAre able to coordinate multiple projects and set priorities in order to meet schedules.\nHave great interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work with all levels of staff using tact and diplomacy.\nHave good written and verbal communication skills\nCapable of working effectively both independently and in team environments\nAre willing to work the occasional weekend and/or after hours as required to meet critical project/work-related business needs\nCapable of lifting 50-75lbs.\nHold a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.\nCan support occasional travel to support remote field offices\nSpecial Skills (if applicable)\nMust be able to lift 40lbs, move equipment, rack and un-rack host/servers and network hardware.\n\nEducation / Certifications\nAssociate or Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Construction Management, Civil / Electrical / Telecommunications Engineering, or other IT related field\nAutoDesk certified in AutoCAD or Revit\n\nWork Authorization\nMust be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain Secret level security clearance\nIf selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information.\nAdditional Perks/Benefits\nPaid Time Off & Holidays\n401K with Company Matching\nTuition & Training Reimbursement\nLeadership Development Training\n\nCompany Overview\nVision Technologies, a national and global systems integrator, provides IT services and solutions for commercial and federal clients.
