Products such as Sapphire, Continuum, Mocha Pro, and Silhouette, together with the recently acquired iZotope audio suite (including RX, Ozone, and Neutron), ship as plug-ins and standalone applications across Windows, macOS, and Linux, and as integrations for host applications including Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, Autodesk Flame, Foundry Nuke, digital audio workstations, and the broader OFX ecosystem.\nBehind every one of those releases is a build and release pipeline responsible for compiling, code signing, packaging, testing, and publishing installers reliably across many operating systems, host versions, and GPU configurations. This role owns that pipeline end to end.\nYou will serve as the primary technical owner of the systems that turn source code into signed, tested, shippable Boris FX products. This role sits at the intersection of build engineering, CI/CD automation, and release operations, and offers significant ownership over infrastructure that every engineering team and every customer ultimately depends on.\nWhat You'll Own\nThe build and release platform responsible for:\nCross-platform builds for Windows, macOS, and Linux\nContinuous integration and automated testing across products and host versions\nThe product installers themselves, including their creation, updating, code signing, notarization, and packaging across all shipping products\nRelease automation, versioning, and publishing of installers to distribution channels\nThe build infrastructure, agents, and virtualized build environments that support these workflows\nYour work directly determines how quickly and reliably Boris FX can ship products to customers, and how confident engineering teams can be in every release.\nResponsibilities\nBuild and CI Infrastructure\nOwn the architecture, reliability, and performance of the Boris FX build and CI systems.\nMaintain and modernize cross-platform build pipelines spanning Windows, macOS, and Linux.\nManage the build agents and virtualized build environments, including OS provisioning, toolchain installation, and capacity.\nReduce build times and improve caching, parallelization, and reproducibility across products.\nRelease Engineering and Automation\nOwn the end-to-end release process, from source tag to published, signed installers.\nBuild, update, and maintain the installers themselves for every product, including the installer scripts, packaging definitions, and platform installer projects across Windows, macOS, and Linux.\nAutomate code signing, macOS notarization, and installer packaging as part of every build.\nMaintain versioning, tagging, and branching strategies that support parallel product releases.\nAutomate the publishing of installers and release notes to internal and customer-facing channels.\nTest Integration and Reporting\nIntegrate existing automated tests into the CI system so they run automatically on every build.\nSurface and report test results within the CI pipeline, making pass and fail status visible and actionable for engineering teams.\nWire compatibility testing across host versions and GPU configurations (CUDA, Metal, OpenCL) into the automated pipeline.\nPartner with QA and product engineering to catch regressions before they reach customers.\nToolchain and Dependency Management\nOwn compilers, SDKs, third-party dependencies, and host application SDKs used in the build.\nCoordinate toolchain and OS upgrades with minimal disruption to shipping schedules.\nMaintain clear documentation of the build system, release process, and environment setup.\nOperational Reliability\nMonitor build and release health, and respond quickly to broken builds or blocked releases.\nTroubleshoot complex, cross-platform build and packaging failures.\nServe as the go-to partner for engineering teams during release cycles and critical fixes.\nQualifications\nRequired\nStrong experience owning and operating CI/CD systems (for example Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, or Buildbot) in a production setting.\nDeep familiarity with cross-platform native build systems and toolchains (CMake, MSBuild, Xcode / clang, GCC).\nHands-on experience with code signing and macOS notarization, and with building platform installers (Windows MSI/EXE, macOS pkg/dmg, Linux packages).\nProficiency with scripting and automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar).\nExperience managing build infrastructure, including virtualized build environments and build agents.\nStrong understanding of version control workflows (Git) and branching strategies for parallel releases.\nExperience diagnosing and resolving complex build, packaging, and dependency issues across operating systems.\nPreferred\nExperience building or releasing desktop applications or plug-ins, especially in media, VFX, or creative software.\nFamiliarity with host application plug-in ecosystems (Adobe, Avid, OFX hosts such as Resolve, Nuke, and Flame).\nExperience with GPU-dependent builds and testing (CUDA, Metal, OpenCL).\nExperience with infrastructure-as-code and cloud build resources.\nExperience integrating test automation and result reporting into a CI/CD pipeline.\nExperience building out automated installer testing (a nice to have).\nTechnical Environment\nCross-platform builds targeting Windows, macOS, and Linux\nCI/CD orchestration driving compilation, signing, packaging, and testing\nVirtualized and physical build environments across multiple operating systems\nCode signing and notarization for shipping products\nInstaller packaging and publishing for products including Sapphire, Continuum, Mocha Pro, and Silhouette\nWhy This Role Is Interesting\nOwn the pipeline that ships products used by artists and studios worldwide.\nModernize build and release infrastructure that touches every engineering team at Boris FX.\nSolve real cross-platform engineering problems across Windows, macOS, and Linux, and across many host applications.\nHave significant ownership and autonomy in a small, highly impactful team.\nDirectly improve how fast and how confidently Boris FX can deliver new products and updates.\nAbout
