This role requires on-site work five days a week. Local candidates will be given preference; relocation assistance is not available.\n\nHow You'll Help Us Connect the World:\n\nAs a member of our engineering team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams around the world to design, develop, and launch innovative products while driving continuous improvements to existing solutions serving the data center, AI, and telecommunications markets. In this role, you will primarily support the development of next-generation fiber optic panels and infrastructure solutions used in conjunction with optical fiber connectors and cable assemblies. You will play a key role throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept and design through validation, launch, and ongoing product support. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\n\nParticipate in new product development activities and support the release of new and modified products.\n\nDocument product requirements based on industry standards and applications.\n\nDesign new components and assemblies and support optical and mechanical testing of our fiber optic products.\n\nPerform component and assembly evaluation, data analysis and failure analysis. Write test reports detailing the results of testing.\n\nReview and approve product design and engineering change documentation for conformance to company, customer, agency and industry specifications and standards.\n\nCoordinate with manufacturing teams on new process development during the introduction of new products into manufacturing.\n\nGenerate a Record of Inventions for innovations and pursue intellectual property protection.\n\nDevelop awareness of corporate, business unit and quality management system documentation.\n\nDevelop knowledge of fiber optic products, relevant industry standards for these products and technical principles.\n\nGather knowledge of the range of lab test equipment and engineering tools such as LEAN or 6-sigma, DMAIC or other improvement processes, DoE, FMEA and MSA.\n\nThis position may travel to international locations and has growth potential per engineering technical ladder with six additional engineering titles each with increasing responsibilities.\n\nCollaboration with cross-functional teams, which includes designers, technicians, product managers, manufacturing & quality engineers in a team-oriented environment.\n\nRequired Qualifications for Consideration:\n\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, physics, or a similar field\n\nExperience with 3D modeling tools like CREO or SolidWorks\n\nExperience designing injection-molded parts\n\nLive within commuting distance of our Shakopee, MN facility\n\nYou Will Excite Us If You Have:\n\nPrevious internship experience\n\nExperience with ANSYS Mechanical, Minitab, and/or geometric tolerancing\n\nSolid interpersonal abilities, including excellent verbal and writing skills.\n\nSkilled at planning and the ability to pay attention to details.\n\nAbility to optimally work within a team-based environment\n\nThe candidate will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, life and accidental death insurance, a 401(k) plan, and participation in the Company’s Incentive Plan. Candidates starting with the Company will be eligible for eleven paid holidays in a full calendar year, 10 days paid vacation (prorated based on start date), and other leave options.
