As a Staff Software Engineer, AI, you will build and scale AI-powered backend services that integrate modern LLMs and AI platforms into production applications. You'll partner closely with engineering, AI, and product teams while leveraging AI tools like ChatGPT as part of your daily development workflow.\nNo visa sponsorship provided.\nMost Important\nStrong production experience with Elixir/Phoenix, including OTP, concurrency, supervision trees, and fault-tolerant systems.\nSolid TypeScript experience and the ability to work effectively in a polyglot environment (approximately 70% Elixir / 30% TypeScript).\nHands-on experience integrating OpenAI/ChatGPT APIs or similar AI services into production applications.\nPractical experience with prompt engineering and building AI-powered features using existing LLM platforms (not training AI models).\nStrong understanding of distributed systems, PostgreSQL, cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure acceptable), and scalable backend architecture.\nNice to Have\nExperience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Broadway, GenStage, or other event-driven messaging technologies.\nExperience working with Vertex AI, Modal, Cloudflare Workers AI, Claude, or similar AI platforms.\nKnowledge of vector databases, semantic search, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), or GenAI applications.\nExperience optimizing AI API performance, latency, caching, and cost efficiency.\nOpen-source contributions or active GitHub projects related to Elixir, TypeScript, AI, or distributed systems.\nPay: Up to $170,000.00 per year\nApplication Question(s):\nWhat is your desired compensation in USD?
