MTU AENA employees drive their own success in an environment that celebrates achievements.The Technical Integration Engineer is responsible for driving the technical alignment of the High Pressure Compressor (HPC) or Low Pressure Turbine for the Geared Turbofan (GTF) engine programs, where MTU is a risk-revenue sharing partner, and design and manufacturing responsible. In addition, the engineer will support preparations for the upcoming NGSA program.The Technical Integration Engineer works closely with and reports to MTU’s Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) Leader and coordinates key development activities. The position has high-level exposure to chief engineers at both MTU and Pratt & Whitney, discipline experts, and program management.Requirements for this position include:Essential Functions:Drive module development and field support activities of GTF post-certification activities, and pre-design support for NGSA. Ensure content of technical reviews meets requirements, and that Chiefs are satisfied with MTU’s technical position. Lead integration and closure of structural tasks; Safety Risk Assessments, rotor lifting, crack propagation and wear Provide oversight to Engineering Change (EC) activities, drive actions to closure, and ensure gates are passedPrepare presentation material and support Chiefs Meetings, CSMC or HSE reviews and Technical ReviewsLead special technical topics to closure; i.e. DIVE investigations, hardware event support, systems integration topicsCoordinate risk assessment activities and ensure that risk mitigation steps are brought to closureProvide technical support and guidance to the team; act as a mentor to junior team members. Act as back-up for the CIPT lead and Deputy as required, backfill at meetings, etc. Work with Pratt & Whitney and MTU Munich colleagues on a regular basis, involving cultural intelligence and further strengthening of the P&W/MTU partnershipCompetencies:Ability to communicate technical information with an awareness of the audiencePossess a strategic perspective, able to consider the implication of information, decisions and actions beyond immediate team/department Ability to stay focused and respond appropriately in stressful situationsStrong sense of urgency to take timely actions to meet customer needsDemonstrate integrity by achieving high level of trust in work relationships and adhere to organizational values and guidelines of conductDevelop network and technical reputation in areas of own expertise; learn and understand concepts and models from outside of the organizational environment in order to respond to issues from the broadest perspective Sustain and continuously develop technical proficiencyTo be successful, a candidate should possess the following:Bachelor’s degree or Master’s Degree in relevant field5-12+ years of related engineering experience5 years of technical experience in management of high level technical challenges impacted systems and modulesDemonstrated technical competence in related disciplineOccasional travel required, domestic and internationalEligible to work in the United States without SponsorshipMTU AENA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
