Position: Program Director – US GAAPLocation: Frederick, MD – Remote Work Type of Employment: 12+ Months ContractRole Description:The Program Director – US GAAP is responsible for leading large-scale finance transformation programs aligned with US GAAP accounting standards. This role provides strategic leadership across cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and successful implementation of accounting and reporting systems. The Program Director will partner with Finance, IT, Risk, and business stakeholders to deliver complex initiatives impacting financial close, reporting, and controls.________________________________________Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end US GAAP transformation programs, including financial reporting, accounting policy implementation, and system modernizationDrive program strategy, roadmap, and execution aligned with organizational and regulatory requirementsCollaborate with Finance leadership (Controller, CFO organization) to ensure adherence to US GAAP standards and reporting requirementsOversee implementation of finance platforms (SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Financials, Workday Finance, etc.)Manage multi-million-dollar program budgets, timelines, risks, and dependenciesEstablish governance frameworks, including steering committees, reporting cadence, and escalation processesEnsure compliance with SOX controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standardsLead cross-functional teams across Finance, IT, Data, and OperationsDrive financial close transformation, reconciliation, consolidation, and reporting improvementsOversee data migration, data quality, and financial data integrity initiativesManage vendor relationships, system integrators, and third-party partnersProvide regular executive-level updates and program reporting________________________________________Required Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred)15+ years of experience in finance transformation, program management, or enterprise initiativesStrong knowledge of:US GAAP accounting standardsFinancial reporting processes (close, consolidation, statutory reporting)Proven experience delivering large-scale programs in:Finance transformationERP implementation (SAP, Oracle, Workday)Experience with SOX compliance, audit readiness, and internal controls frameworksStrong leadership experience managing global teams and large portfoliosExcellent stakeholder management skills, including interaction with C-level executivesStrong risk management, governance, and decision-making capabilities________________________________________Preferred SkillsExposure to IFRS (for global reporting environments)Experience in Insurance or Banking finance transformationKnowledge of:IFRS 17 / LDTI (for insurance organizations)Financial planning & analysis (FP&A) integrationExperience with data platforms, analytics, and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau)Certifications:CPA / CA (highly preferred)PMP / PgMPAgile / SAFe certifications
