Lead Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager Wells Fargo Commercial Auto's National Accounts team is seeking a Lead Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager to support complex underwriting and portfolio management activities. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of public and large private clients with complex capital structures, multi-lender financing arrangements, and sophisticated credit structures. The role will partner closely with relationship managers, credit leaders, and product partners to deliver credit solutions, manage risk, and support client growth across a diverse and dynamic portfolio. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly assume ownership of an existing portfolio, as well as prospect credit opportunities as assigned, and operate independently in a highly complex credit and structuring environment. In this role, you will: Serve as primary credit lead for a portfolio of complex Mid-Corporate Commercial Auto clients, including public and large private companies Analyze, underwrite, structure and monitor existing and new direct credit exposures including revolving credit facilities, term loans, and acquisition financing utilizing market research, internal loan information, and client data Act as a key client-facing member of the deal team, partnering with relationship managers and product partners Review, research, and recommend solutions for complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of multiple factors Monitor and underwrite operating exposure including treasury management and derivatives Evaluate borrower performance, liquidity, leverage, and key risks through financial analysis and projections Lead structuring, negotiation, and documentation of credit facilities including covenants and collateral Work with outside counsel, internal compliance, and our loan closing teams to close modifications, extensions and new loans including review of third-party reports and loan documentation Prepare and present credit memoranda and recommendations to senior credit approval authorities Identify and mitigate structural and transactional risks Ensure ongoing compliance with loan agreements, credit policy, and regulatory requirements Partner with Relationship Managers and product teams to support client strategy Lead or participate in syndicated transactions with agent banks and participants Collaborate with credit, legal, and servicing teams to execute transactions, manage credit portfolio risk and respond to credit-related requests Mentor junior portfolio managers and trainees Identify opportunities for process improvements Lead special projects as assigned Required Qualifications: 5+ years of Mid-Corporate Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education Desired Qualifications: Strong knowledge and understanding of corporate banking credits, credit underwriting and cash flow analysis Ability to thoroughly analyze credits on an independent basis and communicate findings concisely Experience with syndicated lending as a participant or lead arranger Experience underwriting, documenting and monitoring owner-occupied real estate loans including experience and familiarity with real estate due diligence and regulatory requirements Experience working with complex capital structures Knowledge of commercial banking products including treasury and derivatives Strong understanding of credit policy and risk management framework Excellent communication and presentation skills Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to execute in fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to adapt to evolving procedures and systems Job Expectations: Ability to travel up to 5% of the time This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship This position offers a hybrid work schedule Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired Locations: 550 S Tryon St - Charlotte, NC 28202 2945 White Bear Ave - Maplewood, MN 55109 10 S Wacker Dr - Chicago, IL 60606 1100 Abernathy Rd - Atlanta, GA 30328 14241 Dallas Pkwy - Dallas, TX 75254 6515 Longshore Loop - Dublin, OH 43017 100 N Main St - Winston Salem, NC 27101 Pay Range Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position.
