Sports Card Tax Guy is a growing, client-focused bookkeeping and tax advisory firm. We are looking for a Senior Tax Accountant / CPA to lead the tax function of our firm and serve as a trusted advisor to our clients. We are also the go-to accountant in a very large and fast growing industry that is quite fun. There is a lot of money pouring in right now and these guys need help. It is a privilege and joy to service so many!You will play a key role not only during tax season, but year-round through client management, tax planning, and review and delivery of financial statements.ResponsibilitiesLead preparation and review of federal and state tax returns (individuals and small businesses)Collaborate with business owner for overall strategy and direction of the firmManage the firm’s tax calendar, deadlines, and workflowsServe as the primary tax contact for clients — explaining tax strategies clearly and confidentlyProvide proactive tax planning and advisory support outside of tax seasonCollaborate with bookkeeping and accounting teams to ensure accurate tax filingsStay current on tax law changes and apply them to client strategiesOversee and manage client payroll services, including setup, ongoing processing, and compliance coordinationAssist in business formation services for clients in various statesConduct discovery calls and act as a first point of contact for prospective clients, qualifying leads and converting them into long-term engagementsRespond to tax-related inquiries from leads and existing clients via email and firm social media platforms (including YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn)Engage in a community of sports card and TCG entrepreneursRequirementsBachelor’s (or higher) degree in accounting or related field.Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA).At least three (3) years of work experience in a mid-level accounting role with experience in tax.Comfortable serving as a primary client contact, explaining tax positions clearly, and managing ongoing client relationships.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Experience with computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite & Intuit QuickBooksInterest in and willingness to develop expertise serving sports card, TCG, and resale-based businesses, including platforms such as Whatnot.Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
