The Advanced Technology Support (ATS) team is the second tier of support in all our technologies. You will act as a technical advisor to the Communications and Security Solutions (CSS), Electrical and Electronic Solutions (EES), and Utility and Broadband Solutions (UBS) sales organizations. The team proactively works with all global sales representatives and supports all large, complex, and global opportunities. The team also supports Corporate Marketing, Supply Chain Solutions, and Category Management groups as Subject Matter Experts.\nThis role also supports pre‑sales AV solution development and post‑sales technical execution, including system design, documentation, and Tier‑3 commissioning support for complex AV environments.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nEstablish WESCO’s credibility with end‑user customers and deliver value throughout the sales cycle as the technical liaison.\n\nPosition standards‑based technology solutions and education that meet customer needs.\n\nProvide deliverables such as BOMs, design documentation (Visio/CAD, iBWave, JVSG), and written specifications that clearly articulate WESCO’s value, including supply chain and global capabilities.\n\nGather customer requirements and develop Bill of Materials (BOM), project details, and supporting documentation for AV and related technology solutions.\n\nAssist account managers with customer walk‑throughs, technical inquiries, and pre‑sales meetings to ensure continuity from initial engagement through project sign‑off.\n\nWork with engineering teams to develop shop drawings, schematic designs, and other deliverables required for project execution.\n\nSupport creation of Statements of Work and labor estimates in collaboration with Project Management and Service Delivery teams.\n\nUtilize the Core Engineering and Solutions Support teams to scale project execution, improve turnaround time, and increase product attachment rates.\n\nSupport Tier‑3 commissioning of complex AV spaces and large‑scale deployment efforts, including troubleshooting, system validation, and documentation review.\n\nManage technical aspects of assigned projects, ensuring build quality, system completeness, and adherence to installation drawings and schematics.\n\nTroubleshoot systems to identify hardware failures, restore functionality, and coordinate RMAs or manufacturer support.\n\nProvide escalation support to project engineers and field technicians via phone or onsite assistance.\n\nApprove post‑sales engineering documentation and ensure accuracy of system designs and deliverables.\n\nDocument hardware failures, repairs, installation details, and system changes.\n\nTriage onsite issues and delegate tasks based on priority and severity.\n\nAct as a vendor liaison with Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) manufacturers and identify opportunities to specify partner products.\n\nDeliver technical presentations and hands‑on training in client meetings, seminars, and industry events.\n\nSupport customer visits to WESCO’s Corporate Lab for technology evaluation and serve as SME when required.\n\nParticipate in advanced technical training and continued education to maintain expertise in system architectures and emerging technologies.\n\nAchieve and maintain industry‑recognized credentials relevant to assigned disciplines and customer requirements.\n\nQualifications\n\nAssociate degree or commensurate years of technical experience.\n\nLicenses/Certificates/Designations based on technical field of expertise.\n\n9+ years of experience in technical design, implementation, and/or commissioning.\n\nExperience designing using Visio, AutoCAD 2D, JVSG, or iBwave.\n\n5+ years installing or commissioning audio‑visual systems, including event‑style AV environments.\n\nProven experience reading and interpreting architectural, electrical, structural, and AV system drawings.\n\nStrong understanding of AV system operation, Audio/Video/Control integration, and Tier‑3 troubleshooting.\n\nIntermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills with a customer‑centric mindset.\n\nAbility to think and work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage workload with minimal supervision.\n\nAbility to travel 10%–25%, including domestic and international travel as business needs require.\n\nValid driver’s license and safe driving record.\n\nBICSI RCDD, OSP, NTS, or DCDC preferred.\n\nCTS, CTS‑I, CTS‑D, NSCA, or CEDIA certification preferred.\n\nDMC‑T or DMC‑E certification preferred.\n\nManufacturer‑specific training (Crestron, Extron, QSC, BiAmp, Cisco UC, Polycom, etc.) preferred.\n\nExperience supporting both pre‑sales and post‑sales engineering efforts in hybrid roles preferred.\n\nHybrid\nCompensation Details: $93,937 - $159,693 Annually\nThis amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements.\nFor eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents.
