Ensures specifications align with brand standards, regulatory requirements, operational needs, and budget parameters. Thie position reports to the Head of Facilities in Warsaw, IN.\n\nWHAT YOU GET TO DO\n\nSpecifications Development\n\nAuthor detailed building specifications for new construction, renovation, and remodel projects, including architectural, structural, civil, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), and finish specifications\n\nDevelop equipment specifications for automotive-specific systems such as vehicle lifts, tire changers, wheel balancers, alignment systems, wash systems, compressed air systems, exhaust extraction systems, lube/oil dispensing systems, and EV charging infrastructure\n\nWrite site specifications covering paving, drainage, fuel storage/dispensing systems, signage foundations, and lighting\n\nStandards & Compliance\n\nEnsure all specifications comply with applicable codes (IBC, ANSI, IFC, NFPA, OSHA, ADA, EPA, local/state jurisdictional requirements)\n\nIncorporate brand design standards and prototype guidelines into specifications\n\nMaintain current knowledge of automotive equipment standards (e.g., ALI/ETL for lifts, UL listings, ANSI standards)\n\nCoordinate with environmental and safety teams on hazardous material handling requirements (waste oil, refrigerants, solvents)\n\nCollaboration & Coordination\n\nPartner with architects, engineers, contractors, and equipment vendors to develop and refine specifications\n\nWork with operations and service teams to understand functional requirements and translate them into technical documents\n\nParticipate in design reviews, value engineering sessions, and constructability reviews\n\nRespond to RFIs and addenda related to specifications during the bidding and construction phases\n\nDocument Management\n\nMaintain a master specifications library; update regularly based on lessons learned, new products, and code changes\n\nTrack approved product and equipment lists; manage substitution request processes\n\nCoordinate with procurement on equipment standardization and preferred vendor programs\n\nWHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM\n\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field.\n\n3-7+ years of experience in maintenance engineering, reliability engineering, asset management, or manufacturing engineering.\n\nExperience developing maintenance procedures, job plans, or technical documentation.\n\nStrong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance methodologies.\n\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and engineering documentation tools.\n\nFamiliarity with maintenance KPIs, equipment reliability analysis, and asset management principles.\n\nKnowledge of industrial equipment, utilities systems, and manufacturing processes.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nCertified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification.\n\nLean Six Sigma certification.\n\nExperience in a multi-site manufacturing environment.\n\nKnowledge of ISO standards, TPM, and equipment lifecycle management.\n\nExperience with data analysis and reporting tools.\n\nSalary Range\n\nThe compensation for this position is the range Slate reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; work location; and other relevant business and organizational factors.\n\nBase Pay Range (Annual)\n\n108,877.26 - 136,096.58 - 163,315.90 USD Annual\n\nAdditional Compensation and Benefits: Slate offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k.
