The Project Engineer will primarily perform the construction administration tasks coordinating, receiving, reviewing and distributing information and authorizations necessary for the successful completion of projects.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\nThe Project Engineer will conduct business operations from the office, the field, or likely a combination of both. They will be responsible for:\n\nKnowing and understanding the inherent risks and hazards of the construction industry. The safety of each and every person on site is of supreme importance. Promoting and maintaining a safe project site, and monitoring and enforcing the Buch Safety Program in accordance with Buch policies and all federal, state, and local laws is paramount;\n\nProviding operational support in all phases of the project, preconstruction, construction, and closeout;\n\nAssisting in the development and maintenance of project schedules;\n\nCoordinating, reviewing, and tracking submittals and RFI’s to ensure schedules are maintained;\n\nIncorporating submittal and RFI responses, and drawing revisions into the construction documents to ensure a complete and current set is available at all times;\n\nPreparing closeout documents consisting of as-built record drawings, operations and maintenance manuals, and warranties;\n\nAssisting with environmentally responsible and sustainable construction.\n\nJob Location(s)\nFulton, MD – Servicing the Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD Metropolitan and surrounding Mid-Atlantic and Southeast Regions\n\nPosition Type\nFull-Time\n\nBenefits\nMedical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life Benefits; 401k Plan; Paid Time Off\n\nPay Range\nAnnual Salary $60,000 - $75,000 (bonus potential)\n\nQualifications & Required Skills\nThe Project Engineer should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or at a minimum, an Associate’s Degree in Construction Management, or a related field or equivalent field experience. The Project Engineer should have a basic knowledge of principles and practices of design and construction, including safety standards.\n\nThe Project Engineer should be organized with an ability to properly manage their time by prioritizing tasks. They should be analytical and possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills. They should possess strong communication skills, both verbal and writing, and be able to interact and collaborate with coworkers, clients, and outside vendors to provide quality work. They should be self‑motivated and committed. They should show initiative to learn and grow into a leadership position.\n\nThe Project Engineer must be proficient in the use of computers and other similar technology, and should be experienced in the use of various software applications, such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, P6, and have the capability to learn new software applications specific to the industry, such as those necessary for estimating, project management, and project controls.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nCandidates must be aware of the physical demands of the construction industry and may be required to perform physical labor and other strenuous tasks necessary to the successful completion of projects. Candidates must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. They may be required to sit and stand for periods of time and travel significant distances in a given day. They must be capable of performing tasks that may require bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing and crawling.
