Provide alternatives and solutions to materials and processes to support supply chain issues and Interface with internal and external suppliers to achieve program goals and integrate global activities\n\nJob Description\nRole Responsibilities\n\nProvide creative solutions to unstructured product and system design issues from both factory and field.\n\nEvaluates new developments in assembly, welding, brazing, pressure vessels, vacuum chambers, and cryogenic tool and processes.\n\nProvides technical support and evaluation of alternative material and processes to support supply chain needs.\n\nParticipate in many phases of the product development life cycle, from concept and product specification generation, to manufacturing ramp up and manufacturing production support optimizing functionality, manufacturability, reliability, serviceability, and cost.\n\nConducts research and development investigations to develop and test new fabrication processes and procedures, improve existing or develop new processes.\n\nPrepares technical reports as a result of research and development and preventive maintenance investigations.\n\nEstablishes engineering specifications and manufacturing procedures to guide prototype and production assembly.\n\nCoordinate cross-functional design, analysis, and testing of MRI magnets projects.\n\nSupport the manufacturing plant and the Installed Base\n\nParticipate in product safety, cost out, cycle time reduction and quality enhancement\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nBS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution.\n\nMinimum 3 years of experience with manufacturing or engineering product development.\n\nDesired Characteristics\n\nMinimum 5 years of experience with design, development and manufacturing of complex fabricated assemblies.\n\nStrong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
