Local CDL Class A Truck Driver

Overview Perry Machine & Die is seeking a reliable and experienced Class A CDL truck driver to join our team. This role supports our manufacturing operations by safely transporting materials, equipment and finished product. Duties Safely operate commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers trucks within local routes. Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment like forklifts when necessary. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Manage route driving responsibilities with precision to meet delivery schedules while maintaining safety standards. Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit. Communicate effectively with shipping manager to coordinate deliveries and pickups. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records in accordance with regulatory requirements. Qualifications Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record. Proven experience operating tractor-trailers and handling various truck types. Experience with freight handling including load & unload procedures. Ability to drive safely on local routes while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols. Knowledge of equipment such as forklifts for loading/unloading cargo is a plus.
