Other duties may be assigned.\nProvide technical oversight for concurrent ITS and transportation projects.\nEvaluate design proposals and project plans for constructability, accessibility, and compliance regarding field devices, communications, and power systems.\nMaintain organized project documentation and support progress reporting.\nConduct field reviews to evaluate existing conditions, assess constructability, and ensure compliance.\nChampion research and development initiatives to improve existing processes, test alternative component technologies, and evaluate new materials for cost efficiency, reliability, and performance improvement.\nSupport business development efforts by contributing to proposals, technical write-ups, and client presentations.\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams and serve as a technical point of contact.\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.\n5+ years of relevant experience in transportation, ITS, or related projects.\nExperience with FDOT or public-sector projects is preferred\nRequired Skills:\nWorking knowledge of ITS devices (CCTV, DMS, MVDS, RSU, WWVDS, etc.)\nUnderstanding of fiber optic and Ethernet communication networks.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).\nStrong organizational and communication skills, with attention to technical detail.\nAbility to interpret design plans, schematics, and specifications.\nCapability to work in both the office and in the field as required.\nDesired Skills:\nFamiliarity with FDOT design standards, specifications, and TSM&O guidelines.\nExperience with networking fundamentals (Layer 2/3, NTCIP, TCP/IP).\nExposure to project scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera, etc.).\nExperience with GIS applications (ArcGIS, ITSFM).\nField experience related to ITS cabinet wiring, communications testing, or system troubleshooting.\nNew product introduction and R&D experience.\nProcess improvement experience.\n\nPhysical Demands/Work Environment\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
