Offset Press Operator
This role focuses on operating and maintaining offset press equipment to ensure the production of high-quality printed materials in a fast-paced production environment. You will play a key role in delivering consistent print quality, maintaining production efficiency, and supporting operational excellence while adhering to safety and quality standards.The position spans the full print production lifecycle—from press setup and color calibration to monitoring output, troubleshooting issues, performing maintenance, and coordinating with team members. You will work closely with team leads and production staff to meet deadlines, minimize downtime, and ensure client expectations are consistently achieved.Key Responsibilities:Set up offset press machines according to job specifications and maintain quality throughout production runsChange press plates, blankets, and cylinders as requiredClean ink fountains, plates, and adjust press units as neededOperate machines at optimal speed to meet production targets and efficiency standardsPerform machine adjustments to ensure maximum productivity and print consistencyConduct regular quality checks to ensure all printed materials meet required standardsRecalibrate equipment and adjust color settings as requiredMonitor print output, identify defects, and make necessary correctionsTrack job counts, make-readies, and waste accuratelyCommunicate job status and production issues during shift transitionsReport quality concerns to Team Lead and assist in resolving issuesMaintain a clean, organized, and safe working environmentFollow all safety procedures including lock-out/tag-out and operational guidelinesPerform routine maintenance and support overall equipment performanceAssist with additional production tasks to support team successBasic Qualifications:High school diploma or GED requiredMinimum 3 years of experience as an offset press operatorStrong understanding of printing processes, color management, and print finishingKnowledge of mechanical operations and production processesAbility to read and interpret job instructions and technical documentationExperience working with both computer-controlled and mechanical systemsAbility to monitor equipment performance for speed, quality, and efficiencyStrong attention to detail and quality controlAbility to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasksAbility to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds regularlyStrong communication and teamwork skillsReliable, punctual, and able to follow written and verbal instructionsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with predictive and preventive maintenance systemsFamiliarity with advanced offset printing equipment and automationExperience in high-volume commercial printing environmentsKnowledge of safety compliance standards such as lock-out/tag-out and HazComAbility to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and print quality issuesWillingness to learn new technologies and continuously improve skills
