In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies that power intelligent systems deployed across a wide range of industries. You will develop and implement Board Support Packages (BSPs) for embedded systems. You will work with Embedded Linux, Yocto, QNX, and real-time operating systems to build reliable, high-performance solutions.\nResponsibilities:\nAnalyze product requirements and translate them into technical software designs.\nDesign, develop, and maintain Board Support Packages (BSPs) for embedded systems.\nDevelop and maintain embedded software documentation as needed.\nResearch and implement enhancements to security features and communication protocols.\nExplore and support integration of robotics and edge AI technologies where applicable.\nDesign and implement embedded software using C, C++, and Python in embedded Linux, RTOS, or bare-metal environments.\nUtilize development tools and debugging utilities to develop, test, and validate source code.\nFollow established software engineering processes including design, coding, unit testing, integration testing, and configuration management.\nSupport development, customization, and maintenance of Embedded Linux, Yocto, and QNX-based platforms.\nManage operating system lifecycle activities, including configuration standardization, patching, activation, and backup strategies.\nCollaborate with Business Development and Sales teams to support customer-specific solutions, including pre-sales feasibility, technical proposals, post-sales support, and training.\nParticipate in and/or lead technical discussions across cross-functional and global teams to define requirements and align solutions.\nDevelop Board Support Packages (BSPs).\nDevelop user documentation as required.\nUp to 5% travel may be required.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelors or Masters degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n2–3 years of experience in embedded software development or a related field.\nStrong proficiency in C/C++ and Python; experience with C# is a plus.\nExperience with RTOS and embedded Linux development, including kernel and BSP work (Yocto experience preferred).\nExperience with bare-metal embedded development, including platform bring-up and development in memory-constrained environments.\nKnowledge of IP and serial-based communication protocols.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with ARM-based processor architecture.\nExposure to AI and/or robotics technologies.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nPrioritize competing tasks effectively.\nExperience with robotics and edge AI technologies is beneficial.\nBenefits:\nCompetitive salary dependent on experience (DOE)\nWinning culture with a friendly, team-oriented environment!\nGenerous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, and life insurance.\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)\n401(k) with company match\nEducation & personal development reimbursement program\nGenerous vacation and paid holidays package\nCompany events, and lunches\nWork from home program – once eligible\nReferral Bonus\nAbout Advantech\nFounded in 1983, Advantech is a leader in providing trusted innovative embedded and automation products and solutions.
