The Senior Structural Engineer will work with clients on projects involving structural designs including foundations, steel, timber, masonry, concrete and prestressed concrete structures from conceptualization, analysis, and design through construction.\n\nWith your skills you will\n\nLead RH2’s structural engineering group including setting work priorities and allocating resources\n\nDesign of wood, masonry, steel, aluminum and concrete structures for the Water/Wastewater Industry\n\nProvide QA/QC review of structural design drawings and calculations\n\nDevelopment of design drawings, specifications and cost estimates\n\nFunction as Project Manager for projects that include area of expertise as a major component\n\nLead marketing and interview efforts to expand client base and service offerings\n\nActively participate in industry groups and associations\n\nCarry out supervisory responsibilities, including mentoring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; monitoring performance; and addressing complaints and resolving problems\n\nWhat you’ll bring\n\nB.S. or M.S. (preferred) in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited University with emphasis in structural engineering\n\n15 - 25 years of transferrable skills and experience preferably in public sector consulting and structural engineering\n\nExposure to multiple disciplines including general civil, structural, and mechanical engineering is a plus\n\nExperience managing municipal and public-sector projects (federal, state, city and county) is a plus\n\nReservoir design experience a plus\n\nAbility to form and enhance business relationships and make connections within the industry\n\nAbility to present information, ideas and concepts to mid-sized audiences\n\nAbility to manage projects from design through construction providing exceptional services\n\nExcellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills\n\nAbility to prepare project proposals and budgets\n\nAbility to successfully solve complex problems that require new, adaptation or modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria\n\nSuperior analytical and problem-solving skills\n\nHigh energy and the flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules\n\nAbility to work collaboratively with teams in multiple offices\n\nAbility to work independently and apply sound professional judgement\n\nMust be able to fluently read, write, and understand English\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook and Word preferred at an intermediate skill level, advanced Microsoft Excel skill level\n\nCertificates, Licenses, or Registrations\n\nCurrent P.E. license in Washington or Oregon required\n\nCurrent S.E. license in Washington or Oregon required\n\nAbility and willingness to obtain P.E. and S.E. license in the other state if not currently licensed in both Washington and Oregon\n\nCompensation counts\nRH2 has an excellent multi-component compensation package built to recognize and financially reward our employees’ contributions throughout their career with the company. Individual base compensation will vary within the range of $70.00-$105.00/hour and will be based on skills, qualifications, and experience as they relate to the requirements for this position. RH2 values our employees’ work/life balance and compensates for overtime at 1.5 times the base rate for hours exceeding 40 regular hours in a work week. This position is eligible for RH2’s performance bonus, which is equivalent to one month’s pay.
