{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"9c51d47fb4b911caf92ab6bf","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/9c51d47fb4b911caf92ab6bf","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/9c51d47fb4b911caf92ab6bf","title":"Packaging Designer","description":"Applicants must have ArtiosCAD experience and include links to portfolio, website, or sample work showcasing packaging design experience.\nThis is a full-time, on-site position based in Fullerton, CA.\nOverview of Job Description:\nThe Packaging Engineer/ Packaging Designer is responsible for creating new and innovative custom packaging concepts for gifting, food, candy, and liquor based on customer specific requirements.\nHe/she must be able to use analytical skills to layout a specialty gift line with packaging solutions.\nThe Designer must be proficient in the use 2D Software-Artios CAD, for packaging design and development for gift packaging.\nMust have the ability to create, manage and track all work in progress to maintain timelines for project completion.\nThe Designer will work with the Design, Sourcing and Purchasing teams to develop new products, using outside media reference tools and be able to assist with concept mock up creation for samples/presentations.\nSpecific Duties and Responsibilities:\nDesign/Create structural die lines in ArtiosCAD for various substrates: SBS, Corrugated, PVC, PET, etc…for gift concepts and food packaging.\nPossess the ability to drive projects to completion in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.\nWork both independently and as part of a team with a helpful and cooperative attitude and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.\nPrepare files and requests with the Gift Design, Sourcing and Purchasing Teams using appropriate designated documents to track status on delivery, quotes and issues as needed.\nAnalyze every design for the necessary steps of completion.\nMaintain the files for organization, storage and revisions for all design specifications for production.\nManage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.\nAssist other team members to fulfil requests and optimize design efficiencies.\nWork collaboratively with the Gift Designers and Graphic Designers, on various customer requests and presentations.\nInitiate, organize, and prepare gift concepts to packaging and reusables with the Purchasing and Sourcing teams.\nAnalyze customer history and work with the Director of Design to develop each specialty gift plan.\nDetermine sourcing needs in advance and communicate plan of action to get product in on time for presentations as well as revisions.\nAssist with direction and completion of the specialty sample product mock-up.\nAssist the Design team with preparing for Customer Presentations as necessary.\nResearch competitive market and trends in packaging. This includes shopping and using outside media reference materials/sources.\nWork with vendors on new concepts and follow through with detail on graphics required, box/acetate required, sizing requirements, and pricing.\nAssist with other related tasks and responsibilities as required/assigned.\nAdministrative and Other Responsibilities:\nCreate and maintain project request forms and logs for quoting and tracking.\nAttend daily design team meetings to know design agenda and presentation deadlines.\nAttend and participate in recap presentation meetings.\nReview and manage a large volume of email.\nMust be able to work overtime, voluntary and mandatory.\nTypical Physical Demands:\nLight to moderate lifting of gift and paper products required, up to 35 pounds.\nUse of equipment/machinery, to cut paper, corrugated sheets or foam.\nMust use all safety and/or hazardous precaution materials when operating machinery or anything that emits fumes.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nMust be able to demonstrate the following qualities: Creativity, organization, ability to multi- task and problem-solve.\nMust possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to work well with others in a fast paced environment.\nSelf-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.\nRequires mechanical aptitude, the ability to convey concepts with quick sketches and creative 2D problem solving skills\nKnowledge of:\nMS Office computer skills: Excel, and Outlook.\nMust be highly proficient in Excel and Price/Cost Analysis.\nHigh level of proficiency in the use of 2D Artios CAD\nFinal product design and package production.\nEducation:\nBS/BA Degree or equivalent work experience\nTrained on full use of Artios CAD (2D).\nExperience:\nMust have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a package design.\nDesign experience in a creative field with packaging/manufacturing environment.\nJob Type: Full-time\nPay: $50,000.00 -
