Become a maker of possible with us.\nThe Sr. Manager, R&D Program Management drives portfolio excellence and change management across Innovation, New Product Development, and Sustaining Engineering. This role leads high-impact, cross-functional efforts that enhance portfolio value, accelerate time-to-market, transform operational effectiveness, and ensure data-driven investment decisions.\nThis strategic role serves as the single point of contact for R&D operations, Portfolio Insights, Project Management Best Practices, and Design Control + Global Product Development System (GPDS) process. The Sr. Manager also serves as a key liaison for BD excellence and continuous improvement, integrating advanced technologies, including AI, to elevate PMO capabilities and decision-making.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nPortfolio Management & Insights\nOwn portfolio health, metrics, and reporting across all programs\nOwn portfolio prioritization and scoring\nImplement and optimize portfolio management tools and dashboards\nPresent portfolio performance/health and risks to leadership and governance forums\nProcess Excellence & Governance\nEstablish and maintain design control and product delivery process standards\nEnsure governance forums operate effectively and drive decision making\nPromote PM best practices, templates, and continuous improvement initiatives\nIntegrate AI and advanced analytics to enhance forecasting and operational efficiency\nTeam Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement\nRecruit, develop, and manage portfolio analysts and change management PM\nMentor, train, and support NPD and SE project managers on execution, risk management, and resource allocation\nInfluence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to align priorities and resolve discrepancies\nResource & Financial Planning\nOversee resource allocation and budget management across portfolio\nCollaborate with Finance on long-range planning and investment analysis\nProvide training to functional leaders to ensure accurate resource allocations in Oneplan\nMinimum Requirements:\nBachelor's degree\n7+ years in R&D portfolio/program management in technical or regulated environment\nExpertise in portfolio tools (OnePlan, PowerBI, MS Project) and performance metrics\nExperience with design control and product development processes\nProven people management and mentoring capability\nStrategic thinking with cross-functional influence skills\nExcellent communication across all levels\nUp to 20% travel\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMedical device industry experience\nProject management certification (PMP, PgMP)\nAI/advanced analytics integration experience\nAt BD, we prioritize on-site collaboration because we believe it fosters creativity, innovation, and effective problem-solving, which are essential in the fast-paced healthcare industry.
