Project Manager - Construction - PE license required
OVERVIEW The project manager oversees commercial construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and engineering standards. This role combines project management responsibilities with civil engineering expertise, including design oversight, technical review, and regulatory compliance. The position requires strong leadership, coordination with stakeholders, and the ability to manage both field operations and engineering deliverables. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in civil engineering (required)Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)Proven experience managing commercial construction projectsStrong knowledge of civil design, construction methods, and applicable codes and regulationsWillingness to participate in field training with crew members to develop a strong understanding of company operations, workflows, and project scopesStrong verbal and written communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and within a team environmentCommercial construction experience requiredAbility to travel overnight up to 25%-30% of the work week, as needed DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOversee all phases of projects to meet schedule, budget, quality, and standards.Provide guidance and technical support to field teams and project stakeholdersPlan and manage production schedules; provide weekly directions and updatesCoordinate jobsite activities, inspections, meetings, and material deliveriesCollaborate closely with the superintendent on field operations and executionTrack labor, materials, and performance against project estimatesIdentify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including engineering and design-related issuesManage client, supplier, engineer-of-record coordination, and stakeholder relationshipsLead production, design review, and project handoff meetingsPrepare and maintain project documentation, reports, engineering records, and action plansAssist in preparation of submittals, RFIs, and change orders, ensuring alignment with design intent and budgetAssist in processing and reviewing timesheets, expenses, inspection reports, and financial documentationIssue purchase orders and coordinate procurement and logisticsGather field data for estimating, design adjustments, and project planningRecruit, onboard, and support employee training and developmentTrack employee certifications and ensure compliance requirements are metAssist with performance evaluations of field personnelEnsure availability of tools, equipment, safety supplies, and materialsSupport SOP development and continuous process improvementProvide weekly and quarterly performance updates to leadershipOversee maintenance of building and groundsAssist with basic IT-related issues as neededMaintain adequate inventory of safety equipment, tectum panels, and other supplies COMPENSATIONTotal annual compensation (base salary + performance-based bonus) commensurate with experience: $90,000 - $120,000Company vehicle and gas card after probationary periodCell phone or $45/month stipend toward personal cell phone BENEFITSIndividual health insurance eligibility after 60 days; voluntary dental, vision, life, and short-term disability availableBasic Life and AD&D insurance ($15,000) funded by SERD, with option to purchase additional coverage401(k) with up to 4% company match after 6 monthsTwo weeks' paid vacation (accrued at 1.54 days per pay period)Free gym membership equivalent to current YMCA membership cost
