The Exchange Room Aide receives direction from the SPD management and the surgical team to meet the goals of the customer, shift, department and organization. Oversees the exchange room items (sutures, instrumentation, equipment) ensuring accuracy in case cart completion. Provides quick response to requests for items to the OR suite and maintains par-level stock in OR suites. Performs, monitors and logs Immediate-use Steam Sterilization (IUSS).RequirementsEducation High School graduate or equivalent (GED) required.ExperienceMinimum one (1) year experience inventory control, preferably in an OR health care setting. Medical terminology experience preferred. Customer Service experience preferred. Proficient in oral and written communication using English language sufficient to perform functions of position Knowledge of and skilled in computer software applications.
