This position primarily works in the shop assisting with fabrication processes while learning CNC machine operation, saw operation, and hand-finishing techniques. The Rover supports material movement and staging to keep production running efficiently and provides installation assistance when needed.\nThis role is designed to be flexible and cross-trained, supporting multiple production functions as workloads require.\nDuties and responsibilities\nShop & Production Support (Primary Focus)\nAssist with CNC machine operation and setup under supervision.\nOperate saw machines and other shop equipment as trained.\nPerform hand polishing, finishing, and basic fabrication tasks.\nLoad and unload materials for cutting and fabrication.\nAssist with production staging and workflow support.\nMaintain shop cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.\nAssist in the backsplash department, including fabrication and operation of the Fastback machine.\nSupport solid surface fabrication tasks, including sanding, seaming preparation, polishing, and minor repairs.\nMaterial Handling & Receiving\nMove and stage slab material and other materials within the shop.\nAssist with receiving and inspecting incoming materials.\nSupport accurate organization of slabs, remnants, and supplies.\nAssist with inventory counts as needed.\nOperate forklifts or overhead cranes if trained and authorized.\nInstallation Support (As Needed)\nAssist installation crews on job sites when required.\nHelp load materials, tools, and equipment for installations.\nInstall small pieces and backsplashes as trained.\nDrill holes and assist with sink or appliance mounting under supervision.\nRepresent the company professionally on job sites.\nGeneral Responsibilities\nFollow all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.\nAdhere to all company policies outlined in the employee handbook.\nProvide basic customer service support when interacting with customers or vendors.\nAssist other production areas as needed.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nRequired:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nAbility to work in a fast-paced shop environment.\nStrong work ethic, reliability, and team-oriented attitude\nAbility to follow instructions and work safely around machinery.\nEmployment is contingent upon completion of a background check and review of results in accordance with applicable state and federal law.\nAbility to meet DOT requirements when assigned to installation duties.\nPreferred:\nPrevious shop, manufacturing, or material handling experience\nForklift or overhead crane experience or certification.\nExperience in stone fabrication or related industries\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nMechanical aptitude and willingness to learn fabrication equipment.\nBasic math and measurement skills\nAttention to detail and quality.\nAbility to communicate effectively with team members.\nAbility to work independently or as part of a team.\nWorking Conditions\nWork is performed in multiple environments, including shop, warehouse, outdoor areas, and occasional job sites. This position may require travel to and from warehouses and job locations.
