BIM/VDC Coordinator

The BIM / VDC Coordinator supports project teams by developing, managing, and coordinating Building Information Models to improve constructability, coordination, and project delivery. This role works closely with BIM Managers, project managers, superintendents, engineers, and trade partners to ensure accurate models, clash detection, and clear visual communication throughout the project lifecycle.This is a hands-on role focused on model production, coordination, and execution, not just theory.Key ResponsibilitiesBIM & Model ManagementDevelop, maintain, and update BIM models in Revit (and related tools) based on project requirementsEnsure models comply with company BIM standards, project BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and client requirementsMaintain model accuracy, organization, and version control throughout the projectCoordination & Clash DetectionRun and manage clash detection using Navisworks (or similar tools)Prepare and lead coordination meetings with internal teams and trade partnersTrack, document, and follow up on clash resolution and design issuesVDC SupportSupport construction planning using models for:Fabrication constructionSite logisticsPhasing and sequencingAssist with model-based quantity takeoffs and visualizations as neededProject & Team CollaborationCoordinate with project managers, engineers, superintendents, and subcontractorsAssist in onboarding trade partners into the BIM coordination processCommunicate model issues clearly and proactivelyDocumentation & DeliverablesProduce BIM deliverables including:Federated modelsCoordination reportsView sets and construction visualsMaintain organized BIM project folders and documentationRequired QualificationsExperience in BIM / VDC on commercial or industrial construction projectsHigh proficiency in:RevitNavisworks ManageSolid understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencingExperience with clash detection and coordination workflowsAbility to read and understand construction documents (architectural, structural, MEP)Strong communication and organizational skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience working on large commercial, healthcare, industrial, or data center projectsFamiliarity with:Autodesk Construction CloudBluebeamModeling softwareMicrosoft OfficeTekla StructuresLaser scanning processingUnderstanding of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and LOD requirementsField experience or regular interaction with jobsite teamsWhat Success Looks Like In This RoleModels are clean, coordinated, and reliableClashes are identified early and resolved efficientlyProject teams trust and use the modelCoordination meetings are productive and well-organizedBIM adds real value to construction, not just documentation
