This position plays a critical role in bringing new product designs to life by building and refining prototype HVAC units in collaboration with engineering teams.\n\nThis role is 100% onsite in Indianapolis, IN\n\nKey Responsibilities\nFabricate HVAC prototypes, tooling, and test fixtures to support engineering development projects\nRead and interpret work orders, engineering drawings, and technical documentation\nPerform fabrication processes including:\nBrazing (copper and aluminum)\nWelding\nBending and stamping\nGeneral sheet metal fabrication\nModify HVAC units based on engineering direction and specifications\nCharge and discharge refrigerant from HVAC systems\nInstall instrumentation components such as thermocouples, pressure taps, and sensors\nProgram and operate automated equipment including:\n3D printers\nWater jet cutters\nBrake presses\nCollaborate with engineers to clarify requirements, troubleshoot issues, and complete builds\nMaintain a safe and organized work environment in compliance with EH&S policies\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\nHigh School Diploma or GED\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in one of the following\nHVAC Technology\nMechanical Engineering Technology\nIndustrial Maintenance\nBuilding Automation / Controls\nElectrical or Electromechanical Technology\nPreferred Qualifications\nEPA Certification\nWorking knowledge of residential HVAC systems (air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, gas furnaces)\nExperience fabricating sheet metal components\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings\nExperience brazing similar and dissimilar materials (copper and aluminum)\nExperience with machine shop and fabrication equipment (press brake, shear, punch, welder, band saw, etc.)\nBasic proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook; comfortable with digital communication tools\nExperience with or ability to learn CAD/CAM software\nElectrical aptitude, including ability to read wiring diagrams and use testing tools (e.g., volt/ohm meter)\nExperience with:\nIndustrial 3D printing\nCNC or automated fabrication equipment (water jet, turret press, tube bending, etc.)\nConventional and/or CNC machining\n\nAdditional Requirements\n\nAbility to lift and move up to 35 lbs without assistance\nAbility to work first shift (Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week)\nStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities\nAbility to work effectively in a team and matrixed environment\nSelf-motivated with the ability to learn quickly and take initiative\nAbility to understand and follow EH&S and ethics policies\n\nMust be Permanent US Resident, sponsorship not available\n\nPay Range\n\nThe annual salary for this position is between $53,000.00 - $106,000.00 annually.
