We intend to transform some subsystems into right-sized services and some of them will be rewritten in Java from scratch. This is why we’re seeking experienced Java Developers who are skilled in designing and implementing advanced REST web applications and data integrations - the core of the monolith is here to stay and the services must integrate smoothly.\r\nAbout us:\r\nOur platform is a solution for the entire process, from the warehousing of goods to the shipping of prepared packages to all corners of the world.\r\nWe have 1000+ clients, which are small and medium e-shops, mostly in the US\r\nIn the high season, we’re peaking ~100k orders per day\r\nTech stack:\r\nJava 22\r\nSpring ecosystem\r\nDocker\r\nKubernetes (AWS EKS)\r\nHibernate\r\nPostgreSQL\r\nRabbitMQ\r\nREST APIs\r\nVery high bar for quality\r\nOther teams, you’d cooperate with:\r\nCustomer’s backend: development of the functions of the existing web environment\r\nWarehouse: optimization and automation of warehouse processes\r\nInternals: refactoring, tech-debt reduction, and legacy code removal\r\nFrontend (TypeScript clients in React, E2E)\r\nData Science and Data Engineering (AI, DWH, data-governance, prediction and optimization, business intelligence)\r\nQA (acceptance-criteria testing)\r\nDevOps / Infrastructure (Kubernetes & CI management)\r\nProduct owners (Asana & project management)\r\nWhat does it look like here and what are we proud of?\r\nThe main backend application provides aREST-like APIfor several types of clients (web, autonomous robots, ios picker devices, microcomputer packers, automatic conveyors, and more).\r\nWe have amonorepofor easier CI checks, code sharing, etc.\r\nWe have all services completelydockerizedfor local development. We deploy builds to a hosted Kubernetes cluster in AWS with a single click in theArgo CDseveral times a day.\r\nWith a single click in the CI, each MR can be deployed on a separate dev cluster for E2E and manual testing, so we don't have to compete with a single shared test environment.\r\nWe have a strict static-analysis setup witha lot of checksin GitLab CI (Checkstyle, SpotBugs, ErrorProne, NullAway, other linters, security scans, renovate-bot).\r\nIn addition to the static analysis, we also dotwo-round code reviewsand the functionality is verified by the QA team and E2ECypress tests .\r\nWe have8k+ database integration testswith the thoughtful creation of independent datasets for each test - so no shared data that constantly breaks.\r\nWeautomate the agreed-upon coding rules , to let the machines do the boring parts.\r\nWe considerconcurrencyand design the application to withstand race conditions, which is not uncommon in warehousing systems.\r\nWe’re usingDataDog, Sentry, and Opsgeniefor observability, monitoring, and support.\r\nOur database has grown to several terabytes, so everySQL has to be optimized .\r\nEverything runs inHA, with failovers and autoscaling .\r\nSystems automaticallygenerate documentationof all our APIs from code.\r\nA lot ofexperienced colleaguesto learn from.\r\nIf you like what we do and you are interested in our \"story\", we look forward to your resume, profile, story, whatever.
