This position is located at our East Syracuse, NY, office.  Responsibilities include:Lead technical investigation and top-level design for new feature development and change requests from both internal and external stakeholders.Lead development of primary and secondary radar products which provide safety-critical surveillance throughout the worldDevelop and maintain specifications and technical documentation to support customer deliverables and internal systems engineering processes.Balance competing interests from multiple stakeholder groupsCoordinate with product development management to ensure technical, cost, and schedule objectives are achieved while maintaining acceptable levels of risk.Develop and propose new technologies and capabilities to enhance product performanceSupport technical and cost proposal preparation for future programs. Compensation:$115,700 - $150,500The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.Skills and Experience:Required:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent7+ years of relevant experience in safety-critical industries (e.g., aerospace, defense/military, medical, nuclear, etc.)Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form productive relationships within a teamDemonstrated proficiency with electromechanical and/or embedded software systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).Experience with requirements management, system design, and system integrationExcellent written and oral communication and collaboration skillsDomestic and international travel may be required, typically less than 2 weeks per year.Desired:Advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related disciplineExperience with RF systems, sensor data processing, position estimation, and/or trackingExperience with Eurocontrol, FAA, or other air traffic procedures, operations, and systemsExperience with Linux in embedded and/or server systemsExperience with RF systems, sensor data processing, position estimation, and/or trackingExperience with networked computer systems, cybersecurity, and/or system hardeningExperience with MATLAB programming and data analysis skillsCitizenship Requirements:Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).Drug-Free Workplaces: Saab is a federal government contractor and adheres to policies and programs necessary for sustaining drug-free workplaces.
