Job Description Utilities Field Inspector Job at a Glance Location: Fairmont, West VirginiaContract: W2 only, 24 month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full time with either the client or CEIPay: $46/hrKey Responsibilities Support transmission line and substation inspection programs, including foundation and repair inspectionsOversee wood pole treatment and testing methods, steel structure coating crews, and evaluate transmission structuresAssess storm damage and support emergency restoration crewsCoordinate directly with field crews and contractorsManage own schedule and site visitsAttend job site meetings and perform safety walkthroughsComplete documentation and reporting, with some WFH flexibilityTravel within approximately 2 hours of job sites; drive own vehicle with mileage reimbursementVerify contractor PPE, tooling, and safety practicesEnsure vendors follow design specifications and document workCoordinate contractor repairs, such as damaged towers and foundation shoringReview drawings and specifications from a project/work management perspectiveRequired Skills 5+ years of active field experienceComputer skills to properly fill out daily and weekly reportsWorking knowledge of Word and ExcelMinimum 5 years; 7 years preferred of knowledge of transmission line work, foundations, stringing of conductors, transmission substations, and facilitiesKnowledge of QA/QC inspections and reporting practicesKnowledge of various electronics used to create reportsMust have current and valid driver's licenseMust be a US CitizenProficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications and comparing them with customer or engineering standardsProficient in both verbal and written communicationAbility to create detailed reportsTravel requirement is based on project locationAble and willing to travel in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and MarylandAbility to drive to job location as part of the work dayMust be able to wear company-provided PPE for the entire shift while onsite: Hard hatSafety vestSafety glassesFR clothingSteel toe boots, protective shoes, overshoesInsect repellent when necessaryAble to lift a minimum of 30 lbs or more at any given time throughout the dayMust be able to walk up to 3+ miles per day across rough terrain and/or uneven surfacesWhy Should I Apply?
