{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"9bd4763774eed218517d133b","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/9bd4763774eed218517d133b","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/9bd4763774eed218517d133b","title":"Software Developer / Data Solutions Developer","description":"Client: Southern Company\n\nLocation: Birmingham, AL\n\nContract Duration: 1 Year\n\nExperience: 3–5 Years\n\nJob Summary\n\nWe are seeking a Software Developer / Data Solutions Developer with 3–5 years of experience to design, develop, and support enterprise reporting, analytics, data integration, and application solutions.\n\nThis role will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, data engineers, and end users to understand business requirements, integrate data from multiple enterprise systems, improve access to information, and deliver reliable solutions that support operational performance and business decision-making.\n\nThe Developer will also evaluate existing applications and systems and recommend appropriate software upgrades, enhancements, and technology improvements.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, implement, and support enterprise software applications and data solutions.\nIntegrate and consolidate data from multiple enterprise systems to support reporting, analytics, and business applications.\nDevelop and maintain web applications, APIs, dashboards, reports, and data-driven solutions .\nDesign specific computer systems and application software based on business and technical requirements.\nEvaluate existing applications and recommend software upgrades, enhancements, and system improvements.\nWork with stakeholders to gather and document business and technical requirements.\nPartner with developers and data engineers to validate data accuracy and resolve data quality or integration issues.\nTroubleshoot application, reporting, database, and data integration issues.\nDevelop secure, scalable, reliable, and maintainable enterprise solutions.\nSupport system testing, implementation, deployment, and production troubleshooting.\nParticipate in application modernization and cloud-based development initiatives.\nMaintain technical documentation and follow established development and source-control standards.\nSupport continuous process and performance improvements.\nRequired Qualifications\nExperience\n3–5 years of experience in software development, application development, business intelligence, reporting, data solutions, or a related technical field.\nExperience developing web applications, APIs, dashboards, reporting solutions, and business systems .\nExperience integrating, validating, troubleshooting, and consolidating data from multiple enterprise platforms.\nApplication Development\nStrong proficiency with C# and .NET .\nExperience with modern web application development.\nExperience with Blazor .\nExperience developing and consuming REST APIs .\nFamiliarity with:\nMicroservices\nDistributed application architectures\nGitHub\nAzure DevOps\nSource control\nAzure-hosted applications\nCloud application deployment\nData & Reporting\nStrong SQL development skills.\nExperience with data analysis, data modeling, validation, troubleshooting, and integration.\nExperience with Power BI .\nExperience working with Databricks .\nKnowledge of enterprise data warehouses and modern lakehouse/cloud data platforms .\nExperience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server .\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:\n\nPython\nJavaScript\nTypeScript\nAzure services\nCI/CD pipelines\nAutomated application deployments\nSemantic models\nEnterprise reporting and analytics platforms\nModern data architecture\nAgile/Scrum development environments\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nAbility to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.\nStrong collaboration and stakeholder-management skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and assignments.\nStrong attention to data accuracy and application quality.\nAbility to independently troubleshoot technical issues and recommend solutions.\nCommitment to developing secure, scalable, and maintainable applications.\nWork Environment\n\nThis is a hybrid position based in Birmingham, Alabama . The role will involve a combination of remote and on-site collaboration.\n\nPeriodic on-site presence and occasional travel may be required for stakeholder meetings, workshops, testing, training,
