The position requires strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of testing principles, and the ability to handle complex problems and unique situations independently.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nTest Solution Design and Development:\nDesign engineering solutions for test fixtures, systems, and tools to validate electrical, mechanical, and software components based on established engineering principles and technology development guidelines.\nDevelop and implement comprehensive test plans and parameters for new and existing products, focusing on the validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, thermal generation, and system power measurements.\nConduct empirical analysis, modeling, and testing to validate the effectiveness and reliability of test solutions and fixtures.\nProject Leadership and Collaboration:\nLead project teams comprising internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality test solutions for moderately complex products.\nFacilitate information validation and team decision-making processes, providing guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.\nCollaborate and communicate with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.\nQuality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:\nLead initiatives to integrate quality requirements, processes, and practices into the development, design, and continuous improvement of test solutions and fixtures.\nReview and evaluate test solution designs and implementation activities for potential quality issues, providing tangible feedback and implementing solutions to improve test quality and mitigate risk of failures.\nDrive innovation and integration of new technologies and quality initiatives into testing projects and activities within the organization.\nSupport Proof of Concept (POC) and Engineering Investigations:\nSupport the development and validation of Proof of Concept (POC) projects to explore and demonstrate new technologies and approaches in videoconferencing.\nConduct engineering investigations to identify root causes of issues, analyze test data, and provide actionable insights to improve product performance and reliability.\nDocumentation and Communication:\nPrepare and present test architectures, design proposals, quality plans, and test results to management levels, negotiating options and ensuring clear, effective communication.\nMaintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of test status, project progress, test plans, and quality evaluations.\n\nEducation & Experience Recommended\n\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.\nTypically 7-10 years of experience in a testing-focused engineering role, with a focus on test solution design, development, and validation.\n\nPreferred Certifications\n\nSix Sigma Certification\nLean Certification\nCertified Test Engineer (CTE), Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)\n\nKnowledge & Skills\n\nAgile Methodology\nAutomation\nCI/CD\nDevOps\nDFMEA/PFMEA\nDFx Principles\nPython (Programming Language)\nSoftware Development Life Cycle\n\nCross-Org Skills\n\nEffective Communication\nResults Orientation\nLearning Agility\nDigital Fluency\nCustomer Centricity\n\nImpact & Scope\n\nImpacts function and leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives.\n\nComplexity\n\nWorks on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.\n\nDisclaimer\n\nThis job description describes the general nature and level of work performed in this role.
