To support this effort, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Software Test Engineer to be a key driver in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software through robust automated testing. This role is critical for developing and implementing automated test strategies for new and existing product development efforts, ultimately providing increased customer satisfaction.\r\nThis position will require a highly motivated individual with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to work collaboratively with software development engineers, electrical engineers, software test associates, marketing, and product management. The right candidate will bring a strong foundation in software testing, test automation development, and a passion for ensuring product excellence.\r\nEssential Functions\r\nFoster system-level embedded software quality excellence through the creation, maintenance, and use of software test solutions.\r\nProvide software and hardware design for test input to development team members to expect product testability.\r\nDevelop and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test documentation.\r\nLead development teams in isolating, reporting, and tracking software defects through resolution.\r\nStay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in software testing and test automation.\r\nContribute to embedded software development tasks as workload requires or between testing projects.\r\nMinimum Qualifications\r\nThe candidate must be able to perform essential job functions using technology and skills described below\r\nA bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering, with a minimum of 2-3 years of industry experience in software testing or software development with a significant focus on test automation.\r\nFamiliarity with embedded system analog, digital, and communication interfaces\r\nFamiliarity in interfacing with test equipment\r\nExperience with unit test frameworks\r\nStrong programming skills in C/C++\r\nKnowledge of software development lifecycles, testing methodologies, and best practices, including version control and defect tracking.\r\nProficiency in using debugging tools, and a foundational understanding of tools like oscilloscopes or logic analyzers for troubleshooting.\r\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in integrated hardware/software systems.\r\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts and collaborate with diverse teams.\r\nIdeal Qualifications\r\nAn ideal candidate would possess some more specific skills\r\nFamiliarity with languages commonly used in test automation (C#, Python, or related)\r\nExperience with specific DAQ hardware/software (DAQ USB-1208HS-4AO, or related)\r\nIn-depth knowledge of testing communication interfaces.\r\nA good understanding of basic electrical engineering concepts and the ability to read and interpret schematics.\r\nExperience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).\r\nProficient with Azure DevOps continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.\r\nExperience working in an Agile or Scrum software development environment.\r\nITW Welding is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
