This is a full-time role. We prefer candidates who can work hybrid from our Charleston, SC office (~several days per week). The work sits at the intersection of fiduciary responsibility, complex data, and day-to-day usability. We’re a collaborative, fast-moving, hands-on team with high autonomy and room to grow.\nResponsibilities and expectations\nBuild and ship product features: deliver across the stack with an emphasis on reliability, usability, and performance\nData model and persistence: design and evolve relational schemas; own how features are modeled and stored\nBack-end development: implement REST APIs using TypeScript and Node.js\nFront-end development: build responsive, accessible UIs in React\nPractice sound engineering: write tests (unit/integration), review code, and document decisions\nSecurity by default: apply secure coding practices (including authZ-aware APIs and careful handling of sensitive data); stay current on security best practices\nMonitor and operate in production: add logging, metrics, and alerting for what you ship; debug issues and drive root-cause fixes\nCollaborate on product direction: contribute to ideation, scoping, and prioritization\nQualifications\nRequired\n2–5 years of professional software development experience (or equivalent demonstrated track record), with consistent delivery of high-quality production code\nStrong with TypeScript and Node.js; solid familiarity with React\nExperience building REST-based services\nExperience designing relational data models\nProduct-oriented mindset, strong work ethic, and comfort owning features end-to-end with limited oversight\nNice to have\nPostgres experience\nFamiliarity with CI/CD, cloud platforms, and monitoring/observability tools\nInterest in regulated or domain-heavy product work (finance, compliance, fiduciary operations)\nBenefits\nSalary commensurate with experience\nEmployer-sponsored health insurance\nGenerous paid time off and holiday schedule\nStock options\nHybrid work from our Charleston office; fully remote considered for exceptional candidates\nHow to apply\nPlease submit a resume and optional cover letter to hiring@protrustee.com.
