The Software Configuration Manager serves as the program authority for configuration identification, configuration status accounting, baseline integrity, and change management throughout the system life-cycle. This role partners with engineering, software development, cybersecurity, logistics, quality, program management, and government stakeholders to ensure all configuration-controlled items remain accurately documented, traceable, and compliant with contractual and technical requirements.\n\nThe ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience supporting large-scale technical environments involving space systems, ground infrastructure, mission operations, communications networks, cloud environments, or enterprise information technology capabilities.\nKey Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nServe as the Software Configuration Manager responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the program Configuration Management Plan (CMP) and associated CM processes.\nEstablish and maintain technical, functional, product, software, hardware, and documentation baselines throughout the system development life-cycle.\nManage configuration identification, configuration control, configuration status accounting, and configuration verification and audit activities in accordance with program and contractual requirements.\nAdminister the Configuration Control Board (CCB), including coordinating agenda development, documenting decisions, tracking actions, and ensuring approved changes are properly implemented.\nReview, evaluate, and process Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Requests for Deviation (RFDs), Requests for Waiver (RFWs), and other configuration change requests.\nCoordinate with systems engineering, software development, cybersecurity, logistics, quality assurance, and program management teams to assess the technical, operational, schedule, and cost impacts of proposed changes.\nMaintain complete configuration records, version histories, release documentation, and traceability between requirements, design artifacts, software builds, hardware configurations, and deployed systems.\nSupport software and hardware release management activities, ensuring approved configurations are accurately documented, tested, and transitioned into operational environments.\nConduct Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs), Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), and internal configuration compliance assessments.\nEnsure consistency between approved technical baselines, engineering documentation, requirements, interface specifications, software repositories, and deployment environments.\nDevelop and maintain configuration status reports, baseline metrics, audit findings, and executive dashboards supporting program leadership and customer reporting.\nSupport proposal efforts, contract modifications, technical refresh activities, and system modernization initiatives by maintaining configuration integrity throughout program changes.\nIdentify configuration risks, process deficiencies, and opportunities for continuous improvement while implementing corrective actions and CM best practices.\nCoordinate with government configuration management organizations and customer representatives to ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and technical requirements.\n\nSalary Range: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00\nMinimum Qualifications:\nActive Secret security clearance (TS/SCI preferred depending on program requirements).\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Operations Management, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience may be considered.\nMinimum ten (10) years of experience performing configuration management for Department of Defense, aerospace, federal, or other complex technical programs.\nDemonstrated experience developing and managing Configuration Management Plans (CMPs), technical baselines, and configuration control processes.\nExperience administering Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and managing Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and other configuration change activities.\nStrong understanding of configuration identification, baseline management, change control, status accounting, and configuration audits.\nExperience supporting software, hardware, documentation, and system configuration management across multiple engineering disciplines.\nExperience maintaining configuration traceability between requirements, engineering documentation, software releases, and deployed operational environments.\nFamiliarity with systems engineering life-cycle processes, requirements management, and configuration governance.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with engineering teams, program leadership, and government stakeholders.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Power-Point, Excel, Project, and Outlook.\nAbility to travel approximately 25% to support customer locations, configuration audits, engineering reviews, and operational activities.\nDesired Qualifications:\nExperience supporting Department of Defense, U.S. Space Force, NASA, Intelligence Community, or other classified government programs.\nExperience supporting software-intensive systems using Git, GitLab, GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket, or similar source code management platforms.\nFamiliarity with product life-cycle management (PLM), application life-cycle management (ALM), and enterprise configuration management tools.\nExperience supporting Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and automated release management environments.\nKnowledge of ANSI/EIA-649 Configuration Management Standard, MIL-HDBK-61, or equivalent government and industry CM standards.\nExperience managing digital baselines supporting Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Digital Engineering, or Digital Thread initiatives.\nFamiliarity with Jira, Confluence, Share-Point, ServiceNow, or similar collaboration and work-flow management platforms.\nExperience supporting Functional Configuration Audits (FCA), Physical Configuration Audits (PCA), and government technical reviews.\nCertified Configuration and Data Management Professional (CCDMP), PMP, or other relevant professional certification.\nExperience supporting space systems, communications infrastructure, cloud platforms, or mission operations environments.\nAbout Us:\nFormed through the strategic union of Sev1Tech and ERT, Entarian is a premier provider of mission-critical engineering and technology solutions.
