Provides complete conceptual and final estimating input.\r\nUnderstands construction means, methods, and sequences-singe discipline.\r\nResponsible for performing all aspects of estimating.\r\nAssists in the preparation of the Estimate Plan.\r\nConducts work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard estimating techniques, procedures, and criteria.\r\nMay provide guidance to less experienced estimating personnel.\r\nDevelops wage rate build-ups.\r\nReads and interprets drawings, specifications, Requests-for-Proposals and contracts.\r\nDevelops detailed material take-offs for procurement of bulk materials.\r\nApplies the various elements of Shimmick's cost structure (overheads, G&A, insurance, etc.)\r\nDevelops cash flow schedules and estimates.\r\nKnowledgeable of the CAES estimating system.\r\nPrepares scope and bid package breakdowns for subcontract and vendor quotes.\r\nPrepares subcontract bid analysis for scope, cost, and price.\r\nUnderstands Earned Value Management (EVMS) theory and application.\r\nQualificationsMinimum Requirements:\r\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.\r\nExperience leading estimating processes for complex civil infrastructure projects.\r\nPreferred Qualifications:\r\nEstimating experience in Rail/Transit, Bridge, and/or water/wastewater treatment plant projects.\r\nFamiliar with financial analysis (NPV, ROIC, ROCE).\r\nStrong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequences.\r\nUnderstands estimating terminology and measures and recognizes processes/project actions that may impact the project.\r\nAdditional Information:\r\nQualified applicants who are offered a position mustpass a pre-employment substance abuse test.\r\nThis position does not include sponsorship forUnited States work authorization.\r\nThe salary range for this position is between $185,000 - $235,000 depending on experience and/or education.\r\nShimmick's comprehensive benefits plan includes medical, dental and vision coverage; as well as options to participate in an FSA or HSA.
