It's about each person bringing skills and passion to a challenging and constantly changing world.About The RoleThe Senior Structured Cabling Engineer is responsible for developing external and internal relationships and will have the following responsibilities: training customers, sales, and/or Technical Services Representatives (TSR) on Leviton products and the application of these products. Will provide project review, design and the development of testing procedures on new and existing products.ResponsibilitiesWorks with sales, customers, and trade groups to understand the technical aspects of the products in the marketplace and drive product improvements Full understanding of data center architecture and cabling topologies with design level expertiseResponds to customer needs, challenges, and issues with possible resolutionWork cross functionally with BU personnel including design engineers, product managers, QC, and others on issues regarding schedule, quality, and customer challengesDriving product feature improvements and facilitate new product developmentDevelop, conduct, and report product performance results to management on validation testing of new and existing productsDevelop instruction sheet content, application notes, and technical bulletinsProduce communication materials to promote and train customers on technical features of Leviton productsDevelop presentations and provide training for internal sales and spec. engineers and external customers including contractors, consultants and distributorsProvide customers with layout recommendations based on customer-provided facility drawingsReview customer requirement / specifications and identify proper solutions to meet the requirementsMaintain timeliness and accuracy of the technical content in marketing literatureParticipate and contribute to Product Development Initiatives (PDI) and Product Profit Loss (PPL)Test fiber solutions per specific needs and requirements Work with fiber cabling systems and polarity optionsProvide demonstrations to customer base with knowledge of copper and fiber product linesQualificationsLocal Essential Technical SkillsBICSI RCDD certification preferredData Center certificationCopper and fiber background, understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment requiredCopper and fiber background with understanding of electrical and light transmission requiredTelecommunication Industry standards knowledge Visio and Autocad requiredBehavioral SkillsLeadership - Ability to lead, manage, motivate, and mentor team to drive towards success and foster a culture of excellenceCommunication - Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers, along with internal and external customers and key stakeholders Creativity - Innovative in development of new ideas and approaches for engineering challenges Attention to Detail - Ensure accuracy in work product, documentation, and processes to maintain high standardsCustomer Service - Provide excellent service to internal and external customersEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field requiredMinimum 8 years of technical support, applications, technical sales or engineering experience requiredDesign, estimation, and installation in the field preferredTravelUp to 15%What We OfferComprehensive benefits include:Medical (with an HSA option), Dental, Vision and Rx coverage beginning the 1st day of the month following your start date401(k) Program with employer matching contributions.
