When not Material Handling will work in Mixing Department to prepare products according to standard recipe requirements.\r\nMust have sit-down forklift experience to be considered for this position.\r\nHours of Operation:\r\nMonday through Friday + Overtime/Weekends\r\n2nd Shift: 2:00PM to 10:00PM\r\nJob Duties and Responsibilities:\r\nIdentifies, transports, packs, removes and disposes of products and materials.\r\nOperates forklifts, handcarts, or pallet jacks to pick, replenish, shuttle, and load/unload orders.\r\nMaintain inventory levels as directed.\r\nFeed lines with product as scheduled or directed by supervision or line leads.\r\nShip and receive materials throughout duration of shift.\r\nOperate all equipment in a safe manner.\r\nCount, weigh, record numbers of units or materials moved or handled.\r\nEnsure that product moved is identified and labeled correctly.\r\nPerform required housekeeping to maintain 5S and keep work areas clean, such as sweeping floors, putting trash into containers, and picking stray product up from the floor.\r\nPerforms all other duties as assigned.\r\nOperates commercial grade mixing equipment with computerized control systems.\r\nMust have strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.\r\nResponsible for alerting Operators, Leads or Supervisors of any quality or safety issue.\r\nResponsible for always working safely.\r\nOn the floor 100% of shift.\r\nOther duties as needed.\r\nMust be able to work a flexible schedule.\r\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:\r\nMust be knowledgeable in GMPs or the willingness to learn.\r\nAbility to obtain forklift certification within 90 days.\r\nAbility to operate sit-down, stand-up and extended forklifts.\r\nMust have the ability to understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.\r\nReaching with hands/arms throughout shift.\r\nAbility to use hands and fingers.\r\nAbility to see, hear and talk.\r\nLift/carry up to 100 lbs.\r\nAbility to work in light to moderate noise levels; hearing protection may be required.\r\nAble to walk up to 400 yards to work areas.\r\nCommunicate in English to give and acknowledge instructions and problems.\r\nPhysical and mental ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week.\r\nSufficient math skills; ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.\r\nAble to stand eight hours per shift.\r\nRepetitive reaching over head, under and across throughout shift.\r\nPush/pull items up to 2600 lbs. with assistance.\r\nMay crawl under equipment to reach work area.\r\nPerform general housekeeping, including sweeping, mopping, etc.\r\nMay climb steps to and from work and break areas.\r\nGood hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity for repetitive tasks.\r\nJob Qualifications & Experience:\r\nHigh school diploma or equivalent is preferred.\r\nMust be 18 years of age.\r\nPrevious Material Handling experience a plus, varies by location.\r\nWork Environment:\r\nThis is a manufacturing environment and there will be exposure to a variety of machines, noise levels, and varying temperatures.\r\nThis is a team environment; Material Handlers - Mixing must be able to work together and communicate in a respectful and professional manner.\r\nMust be able to work necessary overtime based on staffing needs and customer demand, as well as across shifts.\r\nPhysical Requirements:\r\nReaching with hands/arms throughout the day.\r\nAbility to use hands and fingers.\r\nAbility to see, hear and talk.\r\nAbility to work in light to moderate noise levels.\r\nThe employee may occasionally move up to 25 pounds with a hoist, pallet-jack or cart, and regularly lift up to 70 pounds of boxes/bags of ingredients.\r\nAbility to stand, walk, climb ascending or descending stairs and/or balance throughout shift.\r\nSponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
