The Engineer will participate in the design, implementation, and testing of open and closed loop embedded software resulting in a digital product for engine applications and can impact short-term and long-term business goals.\r\nJob Responsibilities Provide assistance in the design and development of open and closed loop control systems and/or embedded software for aircraft engines, including both software and hardware components.\r\nDevelop and maintain embedded software using programming languages such as C/C++, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink.\r\nWrite code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.\r\nUnderstand performance parameters and assess application performance.\r\nImplement core data structures and algorithms using the language of choice.\r\nConduct testing and validation of control systems and embedded software to ensure they meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.\r\nAnalyze data from engine tests to identify performance issues and develop software solutions.\r\nUse simulation tools to model engine behavior and predict performance under various conditions.\r\nPrepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, software code, and reports.\r\nWork closely with other engineering teams—mechanical, electrical, and software—to integrate control systems and embedded software with other engine components.\r\nEnsure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.\r\nParticipate in LEAN initiatives to enhance system performance, reliability, and software quality.\r\nGather and translate customer requirements into executable product specifications.\r\nProvide timely communications on significant issues or developments.\r\nBasic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).\r\nGE Aerospace will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.\r\nDesired Characteristics / Technical Expertise US Secret Clearance or ability to obtain.\r\nKnowledge of control theory, signal processing, embedded systems, and software development.\r\nProficiency in C/C++, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink.\r\nAwareness of Lean/Agile/XP and continuous integration (CI) practices.\r\nExperience working in an agile environment or introductory Lean/Agile training.\r\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\r\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\r\nTeam-oriented, with high attention to detail and accuracy.\r\nAdaptable to new environments and changing requirements.\r\nCommitment to deliver the best value proposition for the customer.\r\nBusiness Acumen Ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks.\r\nAwareness of technology impacts on the software development lifecycle.\r\nUnderstanding of the project's value proposition and ability to align with the customer's needs.\r\nSupportive of the organization's vision and decision-making framework.\r\nPersonal / Leadership Attributes Strong, clear communication of opinions with data-driven rationale.\r\nHigh quality, timely completion of assigned tasks.\r\nProactive in seeking clarification and new ideas.\r\nInitiative to experiment with new software frameworks.\r\nAdditional Information Access to U.S. export-controlled information is required; employment contingent upon meeting U.S. Person status (U.S. legal permanent resident, citizen, asylee, or refugee).\r\nRelocation assistance is provided.\r\nSuccessful completion of a drug screen (as applicable) is required.\r\nEqual Opportunity Employer Statement GE Aerospace is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
