Supports team in site clearing and chipping tree debris and disposing of tree debris.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities:\n\nPerform intermediate tree care operations such as pruning and limb removal on the ground and in small to large-sized trees (up to 100 feet in height)\n\nAccess a tree safely according to company protocols after having made all the necessary inspections and assessments. Safely and efficiently move throughout the canopy and remove branches and entire trees without causing damage or injury\n\nIntermediate skills in the safe operation of powered equipment such as chippers, trucks, and blowers\n\nIntermediate to advanced chainsaw skills and proficiency in both ground-based and canopy-based chainsaw techniques\n\nEffectively use hand tools such as hand saws, pole pruners, pole saws, rakes, and shovels to perform tree care tasks\n\nEffectively design and configure basic rigging systems to facilitate the safe removal of branches and entire trees\n\nUse task specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to industry standards and company protocols\n\nMaintain safe and organized work zone\n\nEffectively implement plans to prevent property damage and personal injury during tree care operations.\n\nEducation and Experience:\n\nDemonstration of role specific skills or verifiable requisite experience\n\nAble to successfully follow directions and established procedures related to roping and rigging, maintenance of equipment, adjustments to equipment, and reporting malfunctioning equipment\n\nRead and interpret documents such as sales orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals\n\nAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form\n\nAbility to write routine reports and correspondence\n\nAbility to perform mathematical operations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) using weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to calculate or estimate weight, volume and distance related to arboricultural field operations\n\nApply critical thinking skills to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists\n\nEffective communication skills\n\nCommunicate using hand signals with climbers to ensure safety and to perform work within acceptable standards\n\nCommunicate verbally with the general public to direct them safely around the work area\n\nAble to become certified in EHAP, First-Aid and CPR\n\nStrong work ethic\n\nPhysical Demands/Requirements:\n\nWork 8+ hours per day with applicable breaks x 5 days/week (during emergency work, mandatory overtime, after-hours, weekends, and holiday work may be required).\n\nAbility to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day\n\nWork Environment:\n\nWork outdoors in extreme conditions near automotive traffic and direct sunlight\n\nAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditions including extreme conditions – temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit\n\nAbility to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time\n\nRequires protective clothing and personal devices: Eye protection, safety vest, gloves, hard hat, ear plugs, long sleeved shirts, and work boots\n\nBrightview Landscapes LLC is an Equal Opportunity and E-Verify Employer.\nThis job description is subject to change at any time.\nBrightView offers a suite or health, wellness, and financial benefits to full-time team members.
