QA Automation Engineer (Smart Contracts)

We’re building the next generation of collaboration infrastructure — and we’re looking for a QA Engineer who’s passionate about quality, automation, and distributed systems to ensure our products are secure, stable, and delightful to use. You’ll be working alongside our backend engineer, testing APIs, smart contracts, and distributed workflows in a decentralized environment. Your role is critical in making sure that our collaboration vault system is bulletproof, scalable, and user-friendly. What you’ll do Design and execute test plans for backend APIs, smart contracts, and distributed systems Build and maintain automated test suites for functional, performance, and security validation Collaborate with backend engineers to ensure smooth integration of on-chain and off-chain data Test system architecture for scalability, resilience, and reliability Work with product and design to validate features against user needs and edge cases Help shape testing strategies for long-term protocol and workflow automation development What we’re looking for 4+ years of experience in QA, software testing, or test automation Strong experience testing APIs and backend systems (experience with Postman, Playwright, or similar tools) Familiarity with blockchain ecosystems (EVM, Solidity, smart contract testing frameworks like Hardhat/Foundry) Experience with distributed systems or testing complex architectures Comfortable working with CI/CD pipelines and automated test environments Strong problem-solving mindset with an eye for detail Collaborative spirit and proactive approach to quality in fast-paced environments Nice to have: Experience testing DeFi, DAOs, or decentralized collaboration tools Contributions to open-source QA/test automation projects Knowledge of identity, access control, or workflow automation testing Security testing experience (fuzzing, audits, penetration testing) Why join Hive Be a founding QA engineer ensuring the reliability of our new decentralized infrastructure Work closely with engineering, product, and design to build something truly innovative Competitive salary, meaningful equity, and ownership of testing strategy Remote-first culture with flexible hours Opportunity to shape how quality is done in next-generation collaboration tools About Hive Hive is the productivity platform for modern teams — used by thousands of companies to manage projects, tasks, and collaboration in one place.
