{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"9b18519e6cd275349086b6d2","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/9b18519e6cd275349086b6d2","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/9b18519e6cd275349086b6d2","title":"SQL SERVER/ORACLE Database engineer (Mid-level)","description":"THE OVERALL PURPOSE OF POSITION:\n•\nThe purpose of this position is to perform and manage tasks related to the operation, support, administration, optimization, and maintenance of client-owned databases and database tools.\n\nSCOPE OF WORK\n\nThe position's SCOPE OF WORK include the following:\n•\n\nSupport of production and non-production databases:\n•\nCorrect issues reported in production system\n\n•\nSupport routine and ad-hoc IT DBA requests\n\n•\nUpdate documentation, if required as part of correcting production issues\n\n•\nSupport implement SSIS packages and database objects like stored procedures, views,\n\n•\nfunctions, triggers, etc.\n\n•\nImplement and monitor daily and nightly database maintenance jobs\n\n•\nMonitor, diagnose, and respond to system failure and performance issues, taking appropriate measures to reduce system downtime and eliminate recurrence of the problem\n\n•\nWork with USAC technical staff, including network engineers and software developers, to analyze and improve system performance\n\n•\nFormulate and implement backup procedures for all company databases\n\n•\nServe as technical support for any database related performance or access issue\n\n•\nGenerate ad-hoc and routine reports and define metrics for database health and performance\n\n•\nAdminister, maintain, develop and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of company databases.\n\n•\nPerform or affect the performance of all database installations, patches, and planned upgrades.\n\n•\nImplement data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes.\n\n•\nResolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other database issues.\n\n•\nPerform database related development as dictated by departmental or project demands.\n\n•\nDesign and perform data migrations and data transformations as required by application delivery teams or business customers.\n\n•\nDevelop and maintain documentation, diagrams, and procedures and complies with company's change management control process.\n\n•\nEnsure that all database designs adhere to industry best practices.\n\n•\nWork with application delivery teams during database design.\n\n•\nPossess substantial knowledge about application and database performance profiles of all databases under their management.\n\n•\nRepresent the IT department in terms of database expertise in coordination with other departments.\n\nQUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: - Oracle\n\n•\n4+ Years Oracle Database administration with Oracle 10g/11g, ASM\n\n•\n4+ Years reviewing, writing, debugging, tuning PL/SQL & SQL code\n\n•\n4+ Years Linux/Unix platforms and Linux Shell scripting\n\n•\n4+ Years TOAD, Erwin, SQL Management Studio\n\n•\n4+ Years database design and database development such as stored procedures, triggers, views, etc.\n\n•\n3+ years oracle Dataguard (preferably Active Data Guard), Grid Control, RMAN 3+ Years\n\n•\n3+ years experience with database characteristics such as table design, relationships, data partition, efficient indexes, storage allocation, capacity planning etc.,\n\n•\n3+ years display strong ability in troubleshooting complex issues\n\n•\n3+ years experience in performance tuning and load testing of database\n\n•\n3+ years knowledge of database security concepts\n\nNOTE: In addition, this is the desired experience.\n\n•\nOracle 11g Certification\n\n•\nDemonstrated experience with Microsoft Reporting Services or other enterprise reporting tool.\n\n•\nExperience with clustered Oracle databases and high availability architectures.\n\n•\nSQL Server 2008 experience\n\n•\nExperience with agile software development such as SCRUM and XP\n\n•\nExperience with high availability database and application architectures\n\nQUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: -
