The Platform Hardware Controller interacts with cutting‑edge Data Center GPUs.\n\nTHE PERSON:\nThe successful applicant will collaborate closely with other FPGA and firmware developers, system architects, system validation engineers, and board designers across various IPs, leading the design and implementation of FPGA solutions that span both pre‑silicon and post‑silicon stages for AMD’s flagship Data Center products.\n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nDevelop complex FPGA‑based digital designs using SoCs with embedded processing, high‑speed interfaces, and custom IP\n\nDefine FPGA architecture, requirements, and supporting documentation\n\nTranslate system‑level requirements into FPGA design specifications\n\nWrite high‑quality Verilog/SystemVerilog to meet performance, quality, and schedule targets\n\nDevelop and execute test and verification strategies for FPGA designsDrive best practices for design quality, development processes, and continuous improvement\n\nCreate modular, reusable FPGA IP for current and future projects\n\nSupport debug and defect resolution, including validation, logging, and root‑cause analysis\n\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:\n\nStrong communicator and team player in fast‑paced environments\n\nSelf‑starter who can work independently and complete tasks\n\nExperience with FPGA, firmware, and embedded system testing\n\nXilinx design (Block Design, AXI IP) and custom IP integration\n\nProgramming in Verilog/SystemVerilog, Python, TCL, Bash, C/C++ (Linux)\n\nAbility to read schematics and apply verification methodologies (Mentor)\n\nKnowledge of embedded protocols (I2C, SPI, USB, PCIe, TCP/IP)\n\nFamiliar with BMC management and protocols (IPMI, MCTP, PLDM, Redfish)\n\nExperience with ARM‑based systems, build tools (make, git), and CI/CD (Jenkins)\n\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:\nBachelor’s / Master’s degree (preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering\n\nLOCATION:\nAustin, Texas\n\nThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.\n\n#LI- BW1\n\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\n\nAMD may use Artificial Intelligence to help screen, assess or select applicants for this position.
