If you share our motivations and passion in research, come join us!\n\nPrimary Purpose\nThe Software Development Engineer - DevOps, will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure. The primary focus will be on leveraging AWS technologies, optimizing for performance and security, and ensuring seamless integration with edge locations. Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop robust, scalable, and secure systems.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign, develop, and maintain web applications using Node.js, React, and GraphQL.\nDesign, deploy, and manage AWS-based infrastructure, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, CloudFront, and other AWS services.\nDevelop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline to ensure smooth and efficient software deployment.\nImplement monitoring solutions using AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools to track performance, availability, and security metrics.\nEnsure compliance with security best practices, conduct regular security assessments, and implement security controls (IAM, security groups, NACLs, etc.).\nOptimize applications and services for edge locations, enhancing performance and reducing latency for end-users.\nWork closely with development, QA, and operations teams to provide support, troubleshoot issues, and improve system performance.\nMaintain comprehensive documentation of the infrastructure, processes, and procedures, and provide regular status reports to stakeholders.\nWrite and maintain technical documentation for new and existing features.\nWork in an agile environment and contribute to continuous improvement processes.\nTroubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.\n3 or more years of related professional experience.\nProficiency in AWS services and architecture (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, CloudFront, etc.)\nStrong scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.)\nExperience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CDK or AWS CloudFormation.\nHands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.\nKnowledge of monitoring and logging tools (AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.)\nFamiliarity with security best practices and tools (IAM, security groups, NACLs, etc.)\nUnderstanding of edge computing and CDN technologies.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.\nStrong multitasking, problem solving, and organizational skills.\nProven ability to work independently and in a team environment.\nSatisfactory background check required.\n\nWhy work at Emmes?\n\nAt Emmes, your actions and hard work will have a direct impact on public health initiatives, both globally and in our local communities with opportunities for volunteerism through our Emmes Cares community engagement program.
