Cloud Platform Architect / Tech Lead (AWS and Python)

We’re partnering with a high-growth SaaS platform operating in a complex, regulated environment. They’re scaling a multi-tenant cloud platform used by large enterprise customers and are looking for a hands-on technical leader to own and evolve their infrastructure.You’ll lead from the front, designing and building core platform systems in code, shaping how software is delivered across the company.If your default instinct is to solve infrastructure problems with Python, this will align well.What You’ll Be Doing:Platform Architecture & EngineeringArchitect and evolve a multi-tenant cloud platform on AWSBuild core infrastructure systems directly in Python and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform / CloudFormation)Design highly scalable, secure, and compliant environments across multiple customer deploymentsInfluence engineering standards across multiple product teamsCI/CD & Developer PlatformOwn end-to-end deployment pipelines and release infrastructureBuild and optimize CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions or equivalent)Enable a world where code moves from commit into production without manual interventionIntroduce self-service tooling to unblock engineering teamsCloud & Data InfrastructureWork deeply across AWS: compute, networking, storage, securityBuild and operate systems across:Containers (ECS / Kubernetes)Serverless workloadsData platforms (S3 data lakes, distributed processing platforms)Support integration with modern data stack / lakehouse patternsReliability, Security & ComplianceEmbed security directly into pipelines (image scanning, IAM, secrets, policy)Operate in a compliance-sensitive environment (auditability is critical)Own monitoring, observability, and incident response foundationsDrive metrics around delivery speed and reliability (MTTR, deployment frequency, etc.)Your Background:7+ years in Platform Engineering / DevOps / Cloud EngineeringProven experience as a technical lead or senior architectStrong, hands-on coding ability in Python (non-negotiable)Deep AWS experience across:Compute (EKS/ECS/EC2)Networking (VPC, load balancing, routing)Security (IAM, KMS)Storage (S3, managed databases)Strong experience designing and building CI/CD platforms from scratchExperience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)Containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS preferred)Why It’s InterestingPlatform sits at the center of scaling from startup to enterprise-gradeDirect impact on release velocity and engineering productivityHighly technical environment blending:Cloud infrastructureData platformsCompliance-driven engineering
