Meade, MD. The DES program is a highly demanding mission and requires expert technical and professional management to support DISA's enterprise Information Technology (IT) services. You will be supporting a large and complex IT discovery, design, and migration effort towards a Single Service Provider model for the Department of Defense. This role will include discovery, analysis, and design activities required to migrate common IT services from multiple large-scale DoD agencies into DoDNet. Should the government require this position to be fully onsite in the future, the requirement of this position will be change to full-time onsite schedule.\n\nWhat you will do:\n\nThe specific duties include but are not necessarily limited to the following:\nAnalyzes business processes and procedures; makes recommendations to system/software solutions.\nProvides Tier 3 Microsoft SQL Server support, solving complex issues by providing sound solutions.\nApplies best practice for tuning SQL databases to improve overall system performance.\nSupports software development and test throughout the software development lifecycle to include; incremental script execution and defect resolution.\nReview proposed database structure changes and gain approval to modify based on best practices.\nResearch interfaces to identify and code required updates to support integration.\nEnsures software releases are fully supported and gains approvals before implementing new changes into the production environment.\nCreates and maintains all SQL databases required for development, testing, and production usage.\nControls migrations of programs, database changes, reference data changes and menu changes through the development life cycle.\nPuts standards in place to ensure all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security and performance; Perform reviews on the design and code frequently to ensure the site standards are being adhered to.\nPerforms planning and assists application developers and System administrators, to ensure that any new SQL products or release upgrade takes place with minimal impact.\nTroubleshoots all problems regarding SQL databases, applications and development tools.\nTier 3 MS SQL Server and MySQL Server Support.\nComfortable in a fast-paced environment.\nTechnically strong and able to make quick, sound decisions.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills are a must.\n\nTo be successful, you should have:\nStrong oral, written, interpersonal and organizational skills.\nMS SQL 2000, 2005, 2008R2, 2016.\nExperience with Oracle Database.\nRequired Skills and Experience:\nSECRET DoD Clearance.\nMust be a US Citizen.\nBachelor's degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience; additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.\nTier 3 MS SQL Server Support.\nAbility to solve complex problems and present solutions to leadership.\nMust hold current DoD 8570 IAT II certification Security+ CE or higher.\nStrong communication skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.\n\nIt is JCS’ policy to promote equal employment opportunities and celebrate diversity.
