ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Financial Management
Reconciliations
Compliance Audit and Reporting
Job Cost Accounting
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Financial Management and Reporting
Oversee daily accounting operations, month-end close, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and sales tax.
Collaborate with accounts payable/receivable and payroll teams.
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.
Prepare, review, and approve all journal entries.
Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities with accounting department.
Compliance and Audit
Coordinate internal and external audits (financial, insurance, 401(k), etc.).
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, licensing requirements, and industry standards.
Maintain accurate records for insurance, bonding, and regulatory reporting.
Job Cost Accounting
Supervise job cost accounting and project profitability analysis.
Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) schedules.
Review and assist with AIA progress billings and lien waivers.
Ensure compliance with contract terms and client billing requirements.
Reconcile billing to job costs and contract values.
Leadership and Collaboration
Lead and mentor accounting staff.
Partner with executive leadership on strategic financial decisions.
Work cross-functionally with project managers, sales, and operations teams.
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
6-10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition standards.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in financial software and reporting tools.
Experience with multi-entity or multi-state firms preferred.
Familiarity with union payroll or certified payroll reporting.
Bonding and insurance reporting experience.
Workers’ Compensation and Commercial insurance audit experience
Detailed understanding of accounts payable/receivable.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Outstanding communication skills with both financial and non-financial stakeholders
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and deadlines, and prioritize tasks.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop. The employee may occasionally lift and /or move up to 20 pounds. This position may require travel between offices, jobsites, and/or client locations, which may involve extended periods of sitting or standing, lifting light luggage, and adapting to different time zones.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The hiring compensation range for this position is a base salary of $115,000-$140,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and location, as well as internal equity and market considerations.
