Maintenance Technician / Belt TechnicianThis role focuses on building, repairing, and maintaining conveyor belts and related rubber components used in manufacturing and distribution environments. You will fabricate, install, and repair conveyor belting and systems, handle parts and materials, and support safe, efficient operations at customer sites and in the shop. The position is best suited for someone with a strong mechanical experience who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and working both independently and as part of a team.ResponsibilitiesBuild and repair belts and rubber components according to specifications and quality standards.Fabricate, install, and repair conveyor belting, conveyor systems, and other rubber products at customer sites and in the shop.Receive and verify incoming parts, materials, and supplies to ensure accuracy and quality.Maintain the stock area in a neat, organized manner and help manage inventory levels.Prepare sales orders accurately and in a timely manner to support customer needs.Pick up and deliver orders, stock, and supplies as required to support field and shop operations.Work in a manner that prioritizes safety for yourself, your team, and customers at all times.Exercise proper care in the use, handling, and storage of tools, equipment, and materials.Detect and report defective equipment, materials, improper operations, or unusual conditions promptly.Observe all prescribed safety rules, procedures, and regulations in shop and field environments.Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work area at all times.Perform maintenance and repair of equipment used in conveyor belt fabrication and installation, as needed.Travel to manufacturing and distribution sites to perform conveyor maintenance and repair work on location.Essential SkillsStrong mechanical experience with hands-on maintenance and repair experience, ideally with conveyors or industrial equipment.Mechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.Strong organization and prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks and service calls.High attention to detail to ensure accurate fabrication, installation, and documentation.Basic math skills to measure, cut, and calculate dimensions and quantities.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the use of proper English and grammar.Ability to lift up to 75 pounds safely on a regular basis.Ability to work at heights and in tight spaces as required by conveyor maintenance and installation work.Commitment to following safety procedures and using tools and equipment correctly.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in maintenance and repair of industrial or mechanical equipment is ideal.Experience working in manufacturing and distribution environments is beneficial.Comfort working in field service settings, including going into customer sites for conveyor maintenance and repair.Willingness to work overtime on Saturdays when needed.Why Work Here?You will join a stable, long-established industry leader that invests in its people through ongoing training and clear opportunities for advancement. You will work in both shop and field environments, including manufacturing and distribution facilities where conveyor systems operate. The role involves hands-on mechanical work with tools and equipment used to fabricate, install, and repair conveyor belting and rubber components. The work can include lifting up to 75 pounds, working at heights, and accessing tight spaces, so you should be comfortable in physically demanding industrial settings. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, with adherence to established safety rules and procedures at all times.Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Longview, WA.Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
