Areas of Responsibility- Operate and maintain a landfill gas-fueled power plant consisting of multiple spark-ignition reciprocating engines and associated auxiliary equipment.- Comply with all workplace, federal, state, and OSHA safety guidelines and obligations.- Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on:- Fixed plant equipment (e.g., engines, generators, pumps, chillers, valves).- Gas Collection and Control System (GCCS)- Document and report equipment maintenance, operations, and conditions accurately.- Conduct fault-finding and necessary repairs on electrical and mechanical systems.- Support on call schedule and respond to call outs in a reasonable timeframe.- Perform routine housekeeping duties.- Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations.- Support and comply with Company policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company’s employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers/Supervisors.- In addition to the duties set out above, the Operator may be expected to perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Company.Person Specification- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and on-call hours.- Effective communication skills (verbal and written).- Teamwork skills to cooperate and communicate effectively with co-workers and contractors, including in high-stress situations.- Ability to read, write, hear, and communicate effectively to complete job duties.- Visual acuity sufficient for job-related responsibilities.- Physical stamina to stand, sit, bend, squat, crawl, climb, stoop, and walk for extended periods.- Capability to lift up to 80 pounds.- Willingness to travel by automobile and/or airline for extended periods, when needed.Qualifications and Experience- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.- Background in mechanical or electrical maintenance- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.- Ability to collect and interpret data, and write clear, accurate reports and specifications.- Experience with gas and/or diesel reciprocating engines- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical or electrical systems.- Capability to work autonomously and self-motivate in a multi-skilled environment.- Proficiency in using
