This role requires deep, hands-on native support for legacy and modern mobile stacks to sustain and evolve existing production applications. The ideal candidate has experience delivering secure government mobile solutions, operating within governed delivery processes, implementing CI/CD, and managing app distribution through enterprise channels and public app stores and cross-platform expertise (Flutter and/or React Native).\r\nLocation\r\nThis position is hybrid in Springfield, VA.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nProvide primary engineering support for legacy native codebases, including:\r\niOS: UIKit, Storyboards/XIBs, Auto Layout, navigation patterns, and legacy architectural patterns.\r\nAndroid: XML layouts, data binding / view binding, RecyclerView-based UIs, fragments/activities, and backward compatibility considerations.\r\nBuild new mobile applications from the ground up, including architecture, environment setup, and release planning.\r\nEnhance and sustain public-facing mobile applications supporting DHS/TSA mission needs (including ongoing maintenance, performance, security, and defect remediation).\r\nOperate within TSA mobile development processes, protocols, and governance, including documentation and approvals as required.\r\nMaintain and improve the mobile CI/CD pipeline, including automated builds, testing, signing, and deployment workflows.\r\nDeploy applications through TSA's Enterprise App Distribution platform as needed.\r\nImplement and support Firebase services, including Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for push notifications.\r\nManage end-to-end Apple App Store and Google Play Store submission, review, release, and distribution processes.\r\nCollaborate in cross-functional Agile teams (product, design, security, QA, DevOps) to deliver iteratively.\r\nEnsure applications meet accessibility standards, including Section 508 compliance and mobile platform conventions.\r\nUse Git effectively, including branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, and team collaboration workflows.\r\nApply strong mobile UX/UI principles to deliver intuitive, consistent experiences across platforms.\r\nDevelop and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using Flutter and/or React Native and associated technology stacks.\r\nQualifications\r\nDemonstrated, hands-on expertise in native iOS and Android development and troubleshooting, including:\r\niOS: Swift/Objective-C exposure as needed, UIKit, Storyboards/XIBs, Auto Layout, lifecycle/debugging in Xcode.\r\nAndroid: Kotlin/Java as needed, XML layouts, data binding/view binding, lifecycle/debugging in Android Studio, compatibility support.\r\nProven experience supporting and extending legacy mobile UI implementations.\r\nExperience maintaining production mobile applications, including monitoring, bug fixes, and iterative enhancements.\r\nProficiency with Git and modern code review practices.\r\nExperience with CI/CD for mobile and automated release workflows.\r\nWorking knowledge of Firebase and FCM.\r\nProven ability to deliver in an Agile environment with cross-functional teams.\r\nExperience delivering applications aligned to accessibility requirements (including Section 508).\r\nActive TSA Public Trust (or ability to obtain/maintain)\r\nUS Citizenship\r\nUS Citizenship is required for this position.\r\nContact Information\r\nTo receive compensation and benefits information for this role, contact us or email us at Recruiting@HighlightTech.com.
