PT Toxicology Technician

About This Role The Toxicology Lab Technician is responsible for performing a variety of an analytical tests on biological specimens to detect and quantify drugs and other toxic substances. This role requires adherence to strict laboratory protocols, record keeping, and a commitment to quality and accuracy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform routine and complex toxicology assays using various analytical techniques, including: Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA) Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) Prepare patient samples, ensuring proper handing and chain of custody. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment independently and/or with guidance. Perform quality control procedures and maintain accurate records of all test results. Adhere to all safety guidelines and laboratory protocols, including handling hazardous materials. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Participate in proficiency testing and continuing education activities. Assist with inventory management. Accurately document all procedures and results in accordance with regulatory requirements. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, medical laboratory science, or a related field required MUST HAVE ONE YEAR CLIA LABORATORY EXPERIENCE Toxicology lab experience is required Experience with LC-MS/MS is highly desirable. Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and quality control practices. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIS). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
